Upon arriving at the center, Mr. H.'s entire body turned purple and his respiratory and circulatory systems stopped. Immediately, the doctor performed emergency first aid; at the same time, he activated the inter-hospital red alert, coordinating with Thanh Vu Medic Bac Lieu General Hospital to save the patient.
Immediately upon receiving the consultation call, Thanh Vu Medic Bac Lieu General Hospital mobilized a team of doctors and a specialized ambulance to quickly arrive at Phuoc Long District Medical Center. After initial treatment, the patient was taken to Thanh Vu Medic Bac Lieu General Hospital.
Here, the patient was diagnosed with cardiorespiratory arrest due to acute myocardial infarction with complications of arrhythmia. The emergency team quickly performed electric shock and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The patient underwent coronary angiography and intervention using the DSA system, respiratory support using a ventilator and intensive medical treatment. After about 1 hour of active treatment, the patient was saved and his life was no longer in danger.
Doctor Tran Quynh An, Head of the Emergency Department and Head of the Interventional Cardiology Center, Thanh Vu Medic Bac Lieu General Hospital, said that after 3 hours of coronary intervention, patient H. had a spectacular recovery, was taken off the ventilator, had the endotracheal tube removed, and had vasopressor drugs stopped. The patient was completely conscious, with no sequelae.
By the morning of May 13, the patient no longer had difficulty breathing, the feeling of heaviness in his chest had significantly reduced, and was expected to be discharged in the next few days.
According to Dr. An, patient H. narrowly escaped death by applying the model of activating the inter-hospital red alert in emergency cases of myocardial infarction complicated by cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest. At the same time, it is recommended that myocardial infarction is the leading cause of death if not treated promptly. When there are signs of chest pain, difficulty breathing, sweating, nausea or loss of consciousness, the patient should immediately go to a medical facility for diagnosis and treatment within the "golden hour".
