On the morning of July 15th, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club announced its fourth new signing for the 2025-2026 season: center-back Tran Quang Thinh.

Quang Thịnh was once the leader of the defense for the Vietnam U23 team that won the 2022 Southeast Asian U23 Championship in Cambodia. However, since then, this 1.79m tall central defender has not developed as successfully as expected.

While playing for Nam Dinh FC in the V-League 2024-2025, Quang Thinh only came on as a substitute in two matches. Therefore, the departure of this 24-year-old central defender was inevitable.

Joining Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc FC to compete in the First Division 2025-2026 will give Quang Thinh more opportunities to play. Meanwhile, Quang Thinh's presence will also help the team from the Southeast region have a more solid defense, thus continuing to pursue their goal of promotion.

In the 2024-2025 First Division League, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club made history by finishing as runners-up and securing a spot in the play-off match for promotion.

However, Coach Huynh Quoc Anh's team lost 0-2 toSHB Da Nang in the play-off match at Thong Nhat Stadium at the end of June.

Previously, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club announced three new signings: midfielder Luong Xuan Truong (30 years old), defender Duong Van Khoa (31 years old), and Tran Trong Hieu (29 years old).

In the coming days, the team will continue to announce more new signings such as Minh Vương, Lê Văn Sơn (Hoàng Anh Gia Lai), Thanh Thảo (TP.HCM), along with head coach Nguyễn Việt Thắng.

Will Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club change its name?

Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc FC is expected to merge with Dong Nai FC and change its name to Truong Tuoi Dong Nai FC to compete in the First Division 2025-2026. The team will also play at Dong Nai Stadium instead of Binh Phuoc Stadium, which will be used for the youth football academy.

Thus, the 2025-2026 First Division will lose one team after the merger of Binh Phuoc province into Dong Nai province.
