The project started construction on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Da Nang City Party Committee and the 50th anniversary of the city's Liberation Day, and was completed on August 20, 2025.
The architectural space and landscape are harmoniously designed, with a system of trees, lawns, stone benches, walking paths and granite-paved reading benches.
The highlight of the project is the Statue of Uncle Ho in the middle of the campus; The relief behind the Statue of Uncle Ho is a simple and elegant image of Khue Van Cac placed in the middle of the relief, representing the intelligence, spirit of self-reliance, independence, and tradition of studiousness of the Vietnamese people.
On both sides are images of the majestic and famous Ngu Hanh Son landscape of Da Nang. The overall relief shows the inseparable relationship between humans and nature, supporting each other to develop together.
Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang emphasized: The inauguration of the project in the context of the entire Party, people and army celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 has even more sacred meaning.
“This is an event of profound political and cultural significance, demonstrating the infinite gratitude and respect of the Party Committee, government and people of the city for Uncle Ho - the genius leader, national liberation hero, world cultural celebrity,” affirmed the Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, the image of Uncle Ho sitting reading a book was chosen as a symbol not only associated with his spirit of self-study and thirst for knowledge, but also inspires today's and future generations to nurture a passion for reading and learning to improve themselves.
Placing the statue at the General Science Library - the city's "house of knowledge" - further multiplies its value, promoting the building of a reading culture in the community.
According to the Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, the project is one of the activities to welcome the 23rd Congress of the City Party Committee, towards the 14th National Party Congress, and is also a "red address" for traditional education.
This will be a place for cadres, party members, people and tourists to come to admire, remember and learn from Ho Chi Minh's moral example and style, while experiencing a friendly and modern reading culture space.
