Dong Thap organizes the 2nd Sa Dec Flower - Ornamental Festival in 2025 'Colors of flowers of a new day'

In order to continue to honor the traditional flower and ornamental plant growing profession of Sa Dec, promote the development of the flower and ornamental plant industry associated with agricultural tourism, and at the same time promote the image of Sa Dec Flower Village to domestic and foreign tourists, Dong Thap province will organize the 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Plant Festival in 2025 with the theme "Colors of flowers of a new day".

The festival will take place from December 27, 2025 to January 4, 2026 at Sa Dec Park and Sa Dec Square and several other locations in the area. This is a provincial-level cultural and tourism event, expected to attract about 500,000 visitors.

The Festival opening ceremony will take place at 8:00 p.m. on December 27, 2025 at Sa Dec Square, with a special art program, opening a series of vibrant cultural and tourism activities lasting throughout the end of the year and the beginning of the new spring.

According to the Organizing Committee, the 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival is not only a colorful festival, but also a strategic step in the development orientation of the flower and ornamental industry, improving the production value chain, combining with tourism, aiming for everyone to enjoy the fruits of the century-old flower village.

Within the framework of the Festival, there will be 19 main activities and 14 supporting activities, ranging from culture, art, tourism, trade to community experiences.

Outstanding themed spaces include: Sa Dec flower space with a system of miniature landscapes, flower roads, and flower gates serving visitors and check-in; Space displaying 1,000 varieties of flowers and ornamental plants, promoting the Sa Dec Flower Village brand; Ancient Sa Dec space, recreating Sa Dec market and the old flower market, connecting with Huynh Thuy Le ancient house through the activity "Night telling a love story"; "Heritage land" space, introducing national intangible cultural heritages of Dong Thap province.

In particular, the "Blooming Dreams - Rising to the New Era" space will introduce creative models, startups, digital transformation associated with youth, OCOP products applying technology, along with virtual reality experiences, artificial intelligence, and creative games for young people.

The highlight of the Festival is the live performance "A Hundred Years of Flower Village Fragrance", taking place on the evening of December 29, 2025 at Sa Dec Square, recreating the journey of formation and development of Sa Dec Flower Village from a riverside craft village to the "flower capital" of the West. In addition, there is the hot air balloon performance "Sa Dec - flying with a thousand colors of flowers" from December 31, 2025 to January 4, 2026, creating a new highlight for tourism space.

The Festival also has an exhibition area for domestic and international flowers and ornamental plants with a scale of 20 booths, gathering localities with strengths in ornamental plants such as Da Lat, Hanoi, Hung Yen, Binh Dinh, Vinh Long, Ho Chi Minh City and international units from Thailand, Japan, China, Taiwan, the Netherlands, Laos, Cambodia...

Along with that is the Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Market, the OCOP space with 112 stalls, the "Southern Flavor" culinary street, introducing specialties from Sa Dec rice flour and Dong Thap cuisine.

Many industry connection activities were also organized such as the Techmart Workshop on applying technology to enhance the flower and ornamental plant value chain, and the Flower and Ornamental Plant Trade Connection Conference on December 28, 2025.

In addition, the Festival also has a series of community and social security programs such as organizing a flower village experience for 1,000 children in especially difficult circumstances, and the "Sa Dec Flower Village - Hundred Years of Fragrance and Color" experiential tour program lasting until February 2026.

Cultural and sports activities such as the music night “Love of the Flower Country”, the festival “The Song of the Nightingale”, the masquerade night “The Kingdom of Flowers”, the parade “Women in Ao Dai”, Pickleball tournament, jogging and folk games.

In the group of response activities, the highlights include the 2nd Beautiful Flower Gate, Flower Street, and Office Flower Garden Contest; Artistic Photo Contest on Festival and Exhibition of 183 photos "Sa Dec - from Dong Khau Dao to the Flower Capital of the West"; Children's Painting Program with the theme "The Era of Rising of the Vietnamese People"; Folk Dance Exchange, Band Exchange, Artistic Creation from Flowers...
