Da Nang receives smart city award

This is an activity during the working trip of Da Nang City leaders in Korea, led by Mr. Tran Phuoc Son, Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Council.

The World Cities Mayors Forum in Seoul has the theme: Liveable and Sustainable Cities: Creating an Inclusive and Resilient Future.

At the forum, Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Da Nang City, Mr. Tran Phuoc Son, represented Da Nang City to receive the Seoul Smart City Prize.

The Seoul Smart City Award is organized and awarded by the World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization (WeGO) and the Seoul City government.

The jury consists of experts in the field of smart cities from artificial intelligence (AI), data management, e- government , social organizations, non-governmental organizations, international development cooperation, urban planning and urban development.

This award aims to promote innovative smart city models, narrowing the digital gap in the era of the 4.0 industrial revolution.

The award includes two categories: Tech-InnovaCity and Human CentriCity.

Da Nang City was honored in the Human Centricity category with achievements in serving people, taking people as the center in innovation, applying science and technology, towards building a smart city.

Previously, in 2019, Da Nang City was awarded the Smart City Award by the Asian and Oceanian Computing Organization (ASOCIO Smart City). Currently, in addition to being an official member of WeGO, Da Nang is a member of the ASEAN Smart Cities Network (ASCN).
