TPO - On January 15th, Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced three admission plans for its regular undergraduate programs in 2025. This year, the university maintains the same 10 admission combinations as in previous years while adding one new combination.


TPO - On January 15th, Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced three admission plans for its regular undergraduate programs in 2025. This year, the university maintains the same 10 admission combinations as in previous years while adding one new combination.

Accordingly, in 2025, Hanoi University of Science and Technology is expected to recruit 9,680 students and maintain stability with 3 admission methods including: talent-based admission (approximately 20%); admission based on the Thinking Skills Assessment test score (approximately 40%); and admission based on the 2025 high school graduation exam score (approximately 40%).

Firstly, regarding the talent-based admissions process, this university will directly admit outstanding students according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training ; consider international certificates; and evaluate based on a combination of application profiles and interviews.

Specifically, direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training applies to students who achieve high results in the excellent student competition; the Science and Technology competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training; candidates summoned to participate in the selection exam for the national team to compete in international and regional Olympiads; or those who win first, second, or third prize in the national excellent student competition in cultural subjects, and are directly admitted to majors suitable to the subject in which they won the prize.

In 2025, Hanoi University of Science and Technology is expected to recruit 9,680 students and maintain stability with 3 admission methods.

Candidates in the national team participating in the International Science and Technology Competition or who win first, second, or third prize in the national science and technology competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training will be admitted directly to a major relevant to their registered competition topic.

Admission based on International Certificates: for candidates with an average academic score of 8.0 or higher in each of the following years of high school (grades 10, 11, and 12); and possessing at least one of the following international certificates: SAT, ACT...

Admission is based on a combination of academic records and interviews: Applicants must have an overall GPA of 8.0 or higher throughout their high school years, and additionally meet the following conditions: being selected to participate in the National Excellent Student Competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, or winning first, second, third, or honorable mention prizes in provincial/city-level excellent student competitions.

The second option is admission based on the Thinking Skills Assessment Test (TSA) score. Under this option, eligible candidates are those who participate in the Thinking Skills Assessment Test organized by Hanoi University of Science and Technology and achieve the announced score threshold.

The third option is admission based on the 2025 high school graduation exam scores. The eligible candidates are those who participated in the 2025 high school graduation exam organized by the Ministry of Education and Training and the provincial Departments of Education and Training.

The eligibility requirements include having graduated from high school and achieving the minimum score announced by Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

In 2025, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will maintain the same 10 admission combinations and main subjects as in previous years, including: A00, A01, A02, B00, D01, D04, D07, D26, D28, and D29, while adding a new combination, K01, which includes: Mathematics, Literature, Physics/Chemistry/Biology/Informatics. Mathematics and Literature are compulsory subjects, combined with one of the four subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or Informatics, with a weighted coefficient.

The formula for calculating the admission score for the K01 combination is as follows: Math x3 + Literature x1 + Physics/Chemistry/Biology/Informatics x2

It is understood that the combinations of subjects used for admission are considered equivalent.

In addition, this university also stipulates that candidates with VSTEP English certificates or international English certificates can convert them into English scores when applying for admission based on high school graduation exam scores (combinations A01, D01, D04, D07) and receive bonus points when applying for admission based on graduation exam scores or aptitude test scores.
