In 2025, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will continue to maintain three stable university admission methods. Method 1.1: Direct admission for excellent students as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training (students who have won national or international awards);
Category 1.2: Admission based on international certificates (SAT, ACT, A-Level, AP, IB...)
Category 1.3: Admission based on academic records combined with an interview (students who have won provincial-level awards, students from specialized programs, etc.).
At the end of the registration period for the National University Entrance Examination on June 8, 2025, the system recorded a total of 5,167 registered candidates, including 435 applications under category 1.1, 1,671 applications under category 1.2, and 3,061 applications under category 1.3. Accordingly, categories 1.1 and 1.2 nearly doubled compared to 2024.
According to the new regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, early admission will no longer be available for categories 1.2 and 1.3. However, these candidates will still have their high school graduation exam scores (similar to TSA scores or high school graduation exam scores) to be considered for admission to Hanoi University of Science and Technology through the Ministry of Education and Training's common virtual filtering system.

After completing the steps in the talent-based admissions process, the scores of over 4,700 candidates under categories 1.2 and 1.3 have been sent to their registered accounts and emails. Some key indicators of the 2025 talent-based admissions scores are as follows: The highest score is 100/100 points, achieved by 12 candidates (SAT/A-Level perfect score, IELTS 8.0-8.5 points), the lowest score is 55.03 points, and the average score is 76.48 points.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology would like to inform candidates that, according to the new regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, from 2025 onwards, the allocation of quotas for each admission method will no longer be implemented. Instead, the cutoff scores (admission scores) will be converted between methods, and a common admission process will be conducted for each training program based on a single cutoff score.
Candidates with high scores in the national high school graduation exam who wish to apply to Hanoi University of Science and Technology must register their application preferences on the Ministry of Education and Training's virtual filtering system at (https://thisinh.thitotnghiepthpt.edu.vn) from July 16th to 28th, 2025, with no limit on the number of preferences. This also increases the opportunity for candidates with high school graduation exam scores to apply to more majors at Hanoi University of Science and Technology using their high school graduation exam scores.
