In 2020, the Vietnam Women's Academy was recognized as meeting the quality standards for educational institutions for the first time. Immediately afterwards, the Academy implemented a new self-assessment cycle in a systematic manner, from building evidence and reviewing processes to interviewing and surveying relevant groups.
The 2025 external evaluation results showed that the Academy achieved high scores in most criteria, with average scores ranging from 3.8 to over 4.4. The accreditation council affirmed that the Academy is eligible for accreditation as an educational institution, and also acknowledged many improvement efforts over the past five years.
Associate Professor Tran Quang Tien – Director of the Vietnam Women's Academy – stated that the Academy will continue to leverage its strengths in research, community service, and consolidating a culture of quality. On this occasion, he also introduced the key content of the Academy's development strategy for the period 2026–2030, with a vision to 2045, focusing on building a "Digital University, oriented towards social innovation" and aiming to create a "unique identity" during the 2026–2030 period.
According to the strategy, the goal by 2045 is for the Academy to be among the top 50% of universities in Vietnam and gradually appear on international rankings. This is the third time the Academy has developed a medium-term strategy since its establishment in 2012, building on the achievements of the 2021–2025 period and setting groundbreaking goals.

The Academy aims to reach a scale of 10,000 students by 2030, with 20 undergraduate programs, 10 master's programs, and 5 doctoral programs; prioritizing the development of integrated fields such as digital technology, artificial intelligence, communication, economics - social work, gender equality, and training female human resources.
