Awakening tourism potential in Trung Tien

Việt NamViệt Nam23/08/2024

With rich and diverse potential from the waterfall system, natural landscape and indigenous cultural values, Trung Tien commune (Quan Son) has implemented the policy of developing the "smokeless industry" with practical actions.

Unlocking the tourism potential in Trung Tien People are cooling off by bathing at Ba Waterfall in Trung Tien commune.

A touch of green

In the beautiful and majestic natural picture of Quan Son border district, Trung Tien commune is a fresh and emotional highlight. Here, there are lush mountains lying on both banks of the Lo River, which brings water from upstream to the sea all year round. There are also fertile terraced fields, embracing the pristine Thai villages hidden under the rows of green giant trees.

In particular, Trung Tien also owns a "complex" of majestic waterfalls like silk strips falling from the sky, creating a liberal, attractive atmosphere for tourists who love to explore . There are 3 waterfalls here, including: Ba waterfall, An Ma 1 waterfall, An Ma 2 waterfall. Each waterfall has its own unique and attractive beauty, divided into layers, water pouring from the top of the high mountain, looking from afar like a white veil across the mossy rocks. Before the water flows into the Lo River to the sea, it has time to leave a few cool bathing pools suspended halfway up the mountain. In those infinity pools, the locals still enjoy bathing in the cool water on hot summer days.

Visiting the Ba Waterfall, nestled deep within the mountains and forests of Bản Đe village, we were immersed in the beautiful natural scenery of this border region. From Provincial Road 530C, connecting National Highway 217 with National Highway 15C, a newly opened road follows the stream not far away, and we could already see the majestic waterfall cascading down with a thunderous roar. Standing at the foot of the waterfall, we couldn't see the top, only hear the roar of the water eroding the mountain rocks and plunging into the deep valley. The higher we climbed, the clearer the waterfall became, its shape defined by the rocky steps, hidden in the shadows of the forest trees. At each level, nature created deep pools with clear, year-round flowing water. For the people of Bản Đe village, the waterfall is deeply ingrained in their lives, an indispensable part of them. Therefore, without being told, the people of Bản Đe protect the waterfall through practical actions.

Mr. Lo Van Tem (62 years old), a resident of De village, said: “The waterfall is an indispensable part of the villagers’ lives. We, the villagers, remind each other to clear the vines and bushes around the waterfall and not throw rubbish and dirty things into the waterfall. Therefore, the water flowing from the waterfall is very clean, and we still get water for our daily needs.”

Meanwhile, Trung Tien boasts relatively good transportation connections. Located along National Highway 217, it offers convenient access to the Na Meo International Border Gate, the Bo Cung Cave area, and many other scenic spots in Quan Son district. It also provides easy access to Quan Hoa district via Provincial Road 530C to Pu Luong, a destination attracting thousands of international tourists annually. Furthermore, beyond its natural beauty, Trung Tien possesses significant potential in its sturdy and well-maintained stilt houses and traditional dances such as the bamboo pole dance and the xoe dance.

Unleash your potential

Recognizing the existing tourism potential, since 2021, the Party Committee of Trung Tien commune has set forth a policy to develop community tourism, aiming to continuously improve and enhance the material and spiritual lives of the people. Building a "brand" for the destination began with raising awareness and fostering pride in their homeland among cadres, Party members, and the people. Shortly after, the people of the commune contributed their labor to build roads around the waterfall. Safety structures for swimmers were also erected using readily available, eco-friendly materials from the forest. A few bungalow-style huts were installed... to serve the needs of tourists from the surrounding area. The people of Trung Tien are also enthusiastically promoting the unique natural landscape of their homeland to friends near and far.

Unlocking the tourism potential in Trung Tien The terraced rice fields along the Lo River add to the peaceful and tranquil beauty of Trung Tien commune.

Not far from Ba Waterfall, right in the center of Tong village, in the sports field, cultural, artistic, and culinary exchanges between villages within the commune, outside the district, and with Quan Hoa and Ba Thuoc districts have taken place. All seven villages and one sub-district of the commune have established cultural and artistic troupes, regularly practicing and ready to perform for tourists.

And initial success has arrived. The destinations in the commune have attracted a large number of tourists from within and outside the district during the summer. Many of them have shared positive experiences after their unforgettable visits. For example, Ms. Le Ha Minh Anh (40 years old) from Thanh Hoa City said: “Thanks to a friend's recommendation, my family visited Ba Waterfall for sightseeing and swimming. We were very impressed with the trip, especially the children who were incredibly excited to immerse themselves in pristine nature and enjoy many unique local dishes.”

In particular, to shape the space for tourism development in the future, Trung Tien commune has established and approved a community tourism development plan, and at the same time carried out promotion and investment attraction activities. And recently, HDG Group Joint Stock Company headquartered in Hanoi has researched, surveyed and established a detailed plan for the Eco-tourism, resort and nature conservation area in Cum village with an area of over 300 hectares. If approved, the enterprise plans to invest in 19 construction items to serve tourism development with a scale of welcoming about 6,000 visitors per day...

Mr. Mac Van Toi, Chairman of the People's Committee of Trung Tien Commune, said: In the coming time, the commune will continue to do a good job of promoting and attracting potential businesses to explore opportunities and cooperate in investing in tourism development in the area. At the same time, we will take advantage of state investment capital to complete the basic cultural facilities and provide training in knowledge and skills for community tourism development for the people. Through this, we aim to continue developing socio-economic conditions and improving the material and spiritual lives of the people.
