The issue of college grades is always a topic of concern for many students and parents, because everyone wants to get high scores. So, in case a student is unlucky enough to get a D, do they need to retake the course?

Do I have to retake the course if I get a D?
Pursuant to Article 12 of the Regulations on regular university and college training of the Ministry of Education and Training , students with a compulsory course receiving an F grade must re-register for that course in one of the following semesters until they achieve an A, B, C or D grade.
At the same time, students who have an elective course with an F grade must re-register for that course or change to another equivalent elective course.
Thus, the school does not require students to retake and retake subjects that are graded D as F and the school is not too concerned about whether students have many or few Ds to consider graduation. Instead, the deciding factor for each student's graduation is based on the cumulative average score of all subjects in 4 years of university.
In case the transcript has too many D-grade subjects, pulling the cumulative average score of the entire course down or causing the student to lose their graduation grade (for example, instead of being good, it is pulled down to average), then you should consider studying to improve the scores of some subjects to push up the cumulative average score.
How to calculate credits for students
For each course, students are assessed by at least two component points, with courses with less than two credits having only one assessment point. Component points are assessed on a 10-point scale. The assessment method, assessment form and weight of each component point are specified in the detailed outline of each course.
In which, the course score is calculated from the total component score multiplied by the corresponding weight, rounded to one decimal place and classified into letter grades. The passing grade has levels, applied to the course calculated into the average study score, including A grade equivalent to 8.5 to 10.0 points; B grade from 7.0 to 8.4 points; C grade from 5.5 to 6.9 points; D grade from 4.0 to 5.4 points.
For subjects that are not included in the average score, not graded, the requirement is to achieve a D of 5.0 or higher and a grade of F below 4.0. Some special cases use letter grades to classify, not included in the average score. Specifically, a grade I is incomplete due to permission to postpone exams and tests, a grade X is incomplete due to insufficient data, and an R is a subject that is exempted from studying and recognized for credit.
In addition, many other training institutions are training by year and using a 4-point scale to classify academic performance with A converted to 4 points, B converted to 3 points, C converted to 2 points, D converted to 1 point and F converted to 0 points.
