Below is a sample exam paper for the Literature subject in the 2025 high school graduation exam:

2025 will be the first year the high school graduation exam is held under the new general education program. Candidates will only take 4 subjects, including 2 compulsory subjects (Vietnamese Literature and Mathematics) and 2 elective subjects (from the remaining subjects studied in grade 12, including: Foreign Language, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economics and Law Education, Informatics, and Technology).

The Literature exam will still be in essay format with a time limit of 120 minutes. The exam consists of two parts: Reading Comprehension (4 points) and Writing (6 points). The remaining subjects will be in multiple-choice format, with Mathematics having a time limit of 90 minutes and the other subjects having a time limit of 50 minutes.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training , the sample exam ensures compliance with the regulations on the structure and format of the high school graduation exam from 2025 onwards, as announced by the Ministry. It also closely follows the 2018 general education curriculum, primarily focusing on grade 12. To ensure objectivity, comprehensiveness, and alignment with the curriculum and teaching process in schools, the Ministry invited numerous experts, scientists, lecturers, teachers, and authors of new textbooks to participate in developing the exam.
