Updating the construction progress of package XL01 of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway project, the leader of the XL01 package management board said that after 3 months of implementation, the locality has handed over 9.6/11km of land, reaching 91%. Of which, 4km of land is accessible for construction (reaching 36%).

Leaders of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee worked at package XL01 of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway project.

Within the handed-over site, the consortium of contractors led by Deo Ca Group has mobilized personnel, vehicles, and equipment, ready to begin construction in areas where access roads have been established.

The site office, which also serves as living quarters for engineers and workers, has been built to take advantage of the dry, sunny weather during the construction season.

It is expected that by March 2024, the contractor will begin construction to open the Phuong Hoang tunnel (1.7km long) - a crucial item affecting the progress of the entire project.

"The biggest obstacle in the current construction process of this project is that many locations have fragmented land plots that are inaccessible for construction due to the slow pace of timber harvesting compared to the approved plan."

In addition, there are 1.3km of natural forest land for which no conversion decision has been made.

"The supply of sand is also scarce. Some sand mines have been planned for the project but have not yet been licensed for exploitation. Other mines do not meet the quality standards for construction," informed Mr. Duong Dinh Manh, Director of the XL01 contract management board.

Leaders of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee presented gifts to encourage engineers and workers of package XL01 of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway project at the beginning of the Lunar New Year.

Addressing existing difficulties, Mr. Manh stated that during a recent working visit and New Year's greetings from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Lak province (February 22nd), the project management board requested local authorities to expedite land clearance, prioritize reserves at commercial stone and sand quarries allocated to the project, and direct relevant departments to promptly publish prices and price indices of raw materials according to market conditions.

"Although it was the latest bid to be approached, if the difficulties are resolved in a timely manner, Deo Ca Group and the contractors in the consortium aim to complete the project 6 months ahead of schedule (the planned completion time is June 2027)," Mr. Manh said.

The consortium of contractors also requested that Project Management Board 6 take the lead in developing and approving the missing norms, amending and supplementing norms that are not in line with reality, expediting the confirmation and approval of changes arising during the implementation of the contract, and facilitating temporary payments for some items to ensure funding for the contractors.

Package XL01 of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway project has a length of 11km. The total value of the package is 3,083 billion VND.

Along the route, in addition to the road section, the 1.7km long Phuong Hoang tunnel also has 10 bridges.
