Regarding training, Associate Professor Vu Hai Quan stated that in 2025, several new interdisciplinary and inter-university training programs will be launched to provide high-quality human resources to serve the country's development needs. Specifically, these include programs in new energy (renewable energy, nuclear power); and new logistics programs to train personnel capable of operating metro systems, Long Thanh International Airport, and high-speed rail. The program will also continue to develop programs to attract and nurture talented students, training programs for gifted individuals in basic sciences, and promoting scientific research.
In terms of science and technology, the project aims to put into operation and effectively utilize the equipment of the Advanced Research and Innovation Center. It also focuses on developing and registering patents for prototype products in the fields of materials technology, biology, pharmaceutical chemistry, chips and semiconductors, and AI.
The goal for the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) by 2030 is to have 75% of its lecturers holding doctoral degrees (as of October 31st, this figure was 53.7%). To achieve this goal, the proposed solution is to implement preferential recruitment policies to attract PhD holders to teach at member units. Simultaneously, it aims to create opportunities for working lecturers to pursue further education. Funding and incentives will also be provided to lecturers to participate in large-scale scientific research projects, thereby increasing their motivation to pursue doctoral studies.
