"Going from street to street, knocking on every door" to unleash the people's potential.

In Phuc Ngan Vai village, Cam Thuy commune, people often tell stories of donating land to expand roads, contributing labor and funds to build infrastructure as a vivid testament to the strength of national unity. Le Van Sy, the village Party branch secretary and head of the village's Fatherland Front committee, still clearly remembers the days when the Party branch and Fatherland Front committee went "from street to street, knocking on every door" to spread awareness and mobilize support among the people to build a model new rural village.

Rural roads in Phuc Ngan Vai village, Cam Thuy commune, have been widened thanks to the people's land donation movement.

Pointing to the road running past the village cultural center, Party Secretary Le Van Sy said: “This road, about 200 meters long, had been paved with concrete once before, but when the commune launched a campaign to encourage people to donate land and expand the road to build a model new rural village, this road had to be demolished and rebuilt. Initially, people still had many concerns, but thanks to persistent efforts and the principle of 'slow and steady wins the race,' households agreed to donate land and structures. By choosing the most difficult road as a pilot project, it has created a widespread ripple effect throughout the entire residential area.”

Undeterred by difficulties, many households in the village voluntarily donated land and dismantled fences and outbuildings with the spirit of working together to expand transportation routes, contributing to creating favorable conditions for travel and promoting socio -economic development in the locality. From 2022 to the present, the people in the village have donated over 2,000 square meters of land to expand roads from 3 meters to 5 meters. To date, 100% of the roads in the village have been concreted and equipped with street lighting; six cameras have been installed on the main roads. In addition, thanks to social contributions from the people, the Phuc Ngan Vai village cultural house has also been renovated with items such as fences and gates; and additional cultural facilities have been invested in to meet the increasingly high community needs of the people.

Ms. Tran Thi Hanh, Chairwoman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Cam Thuy Commune, said: "With the motto 'using the people's strength to care for the people,' after the merger of Cam Ngoc Commune and Phong Son Town into Cam Thuy Commune, with its functions and duties, the Fatherland Front Committee of the commune has always innovated its work in grasping the situation of the people and public opinion through social media... Therefore, receiving information from the grassroots is carried out regularly and promptly, reflecting the thoughts and aspirations of the people and creating consensus among them to effectively implement campaigns and emulation movements in the locality."

Notably, the Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, in coordination with mass organizations, has propagated and mobilized the people to exercise their right to self-governance and actively participate in contributing to the construction of infrastructure in residential areas. Thanks to effective propaganda work, many households have agreed to donate land, creating favorable conditions for handing over the land for the construction of roads from Cam Thuy Ethnic Boarding Secondary School (Tan An residential area) to Ho Chi Minh Road in Dai Dong residential area; the East-West 3 road; the road to Dong Lao cemetery; the road to Phuc Ngan Vai village cemetery; Dong Mo Lang Song road; and roads in Kim and Song villages. The donation of land and handover of the land was carried out on a voluntary basis with high consensus, demonstrating the awareness and responsibility of the people in building their homeland.

Responding to the movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - Leaving no one behind," Cam Thuy commune mobilized all resources to build 22 new houses and repair 6 houses with a total cost of over 1.2 billion VND. The work of mobilizing support and caring for families with particularly difficult circumstances continued to be effectively implemented by the commune's Fatherland Front Committee and its member organizations. The Fatherland Front Committee, in coordination with the government and member organizations, organized visits and presented gifts to policy beneficiary families, those who contributed to the revolution, and those in difficult circumstances, deeply demonstrating the tradition of "Remembering the source when drinking water" and "Helping those in need."

In addition, the Fatherland Front Committee of Cam Thuy commune, in coordination with the government, member organizations, and religious organizations in the area, integrated the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" with launching emulation movements in various fields; replicating many new models and creative approaches. They organized tree planting campaigns, effectively implemented the "All people unite to build a cultured life" movement; and promoted the self-governance spirit of the people in maintaining security and order, preventing crime and social evils, ensuring traffic safety, protecting the environment, and responding to climate change...

Thanks to the effective implementation of the motto "The people know, the people discuss, the people do, the people inspect, and the people benefit," the Fatherland Front Committee of Cam Thuy commune has played a pivotal role in disseminating information and mobilizing the people to actively participate in emulation movements, mobilizing community resources in building new rural areas and civilized urban areas, creating many changes for the homeland.
