Sharing with Dan Tri reporter on the afternoon of December 1, Meritorious Artist Do Ky said that he had just received the latest document from the Department of Performing Arts (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) about his failure to be considered for the title of People's Artist.
The announcement clearly stated: "This file was submitted by the Central Emulation and Reward Committee to the Prime Minister for temporary retention because the individual submitted a petition and did not meet the conditions and criteria to be considered for the 10th "People's Artist" title."

Meritorious Artist Do Ky said: "This document has not answered my questions in the petition sent to the authorities and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on November 24. I am still waiting for a more specific and transparent response."
Previously, he received a notice to stop considering the 10th People's Artist title. The reason was that the People's Artist title review file had a petition and opinion from the Ministry of Public Security .
On November 24, he sent a petition to the authorities to clarify his questions.
Responding to Dan Tri reporter, Ms. Nghiem Thi Thanh Nguyet, Deputy Head of the Department of Organization and Personnel, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that during the process of reviewing the title of People's Artist, Meritorious Artist Do Ky received a complaint, but the relevant units resolved it in a transparent manner, following the correct procedures, according to the regulations issued by the Government .
"The petition was processed at the Ministerial Council before being submitted to the Central Emulation and Rewards Committee. Meritorious Artist Do Ky's profile met the criteria for People's Artist consideration, so the Ministerial Council sent it to the Committee, but when it was submitted to the Committee, the profile was suspended. The case was processed over many months, so there was nothing surprising or unexpected for the artist," Ms. Nguyet informed.
Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, People's Artist Quoc Tri also said that he was one of the members of the State Council that proposed the awarding of the title of Meritorious Artist and People's Artist for the 10th time.
He affirmed that the members of the Council work transparently, professionally and independently. The Council reviews based on votes, and those who meet the requirements will have their files approved for submission to a higher level.
