Comrade Trinh Minh Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, inspected the progress of the Than River Reservoir Project.

According to the report of the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects for Agriculture and Rural Development, Package 22 of the Than River Reservoir Project includes the following items: Earth dam, concrete dam, electrical system for operation and construction management, equipment and auxiliary items serving the construction of earth dams and concrete dams. As of August 5, 2024, Package 22 has completed the items of earth dam, deep discharge culvert combined with diversion, auxiliary dam 1, auxiliary dam 2, reservoir channel, reservoir flood avoidance road, operator house, reservoir clearance, and mechanical equipment manufacturing. Although the Provincial People's Committee has fully allocated capital for the project, up to now, the contractor, Cuong Thinh Thi Construction Investment Group Joint Stock Company, has been behind schedule in implementing the items as planned.

Speaking at the inspection site, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the contractor to develop a specific construction plan and solution for each project item; focus on human resources, equipment, and overtime to speed up the progress of pouring concrete for the spillway pillars and auxiliary works of the project on schedule before September 10, 2024. The Project Management Board will step up supervision and urge the contractor to construct the project items on schedule, and report the construction status of the project items as committed by the contractor.
