This morning, January 12th, the People's Committee of Dong Ha City held a conference to summarize the work on national defense and security, infrastructure development in 2023, and to implement directions and tasks for 2024.

In 2023, Dong Ha City continued to effectively implement the resolutions and conclusions of the Politburo on the "Vietnam National Defense Strategy," while closely following the directives, orders, and guidelines of Military Region 4 and the Provincial Military Command to focus on leading and directing the implementation of national defense and security tasks and building infrastructure in 2023, achieving fairly comprehensive results.
Party building, political and ideological work, training, exercises, competitions, and national defense and security education achieved high results. The recruitment and conscription of citizens into the military in 2023 ensured 100% of the assigned target was met, with good quality.
The police force of Dong Ha City has intensified crime prevention and control efforts by focusing on specific themes, routes, and areas, regularly launching intensive campaigns to crack down on crime and ensure security and order in the area. They have investigated and clarified 87 out of 107 cases of violations of social order laws (achieving a rate of 81.3%, exceeding the assigned target by 6.1%), arresting and prosecuting 152 individuals for their violations.
Authorities detected 89 cases/92 individuals violating economic laws, with a total value of seized goods exceeding 2 billion VND. They investigated and processed 127 cases/199 individuals violating drug laws (a decrease of 20 cases/22 individuals compared to 2022), seizing 62,331 synthetic drug pills... The rate of resolving crime reports, denunciations, and requests for prosecution reached 92.07% (exceeding the assigned target by 2.07%).
Local authorities regularly strengthen people's security and national defense, building a solid people's security posture linked to a national defense posture in the new situation.
Regarding key tasks for 2024, Dong Ha City will continue to thoroughly understand and effectively implement the resolutions of the Party congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term; and the directives of the central and local authorities on national defense and security. Emphasis will be placed on propaganda and education on national defense and security, raising awareness of the law, responsibility, and civic duty in maintaining security and order.
Strengthen the leadership of Party committees at all levels in the work of building the people's armed forces at the grassroots level. Effectively ensure political security and social order. Promote Party building and the development of strong, regular, elite, and progressively modern armed forces.
On this occasion, Military Region 4 and the People's Committee of Dong Ha City awarded commendations to many collectives and individuals for their achievements in implementing national defense and security tasks and building infrastructure in 2023.
