According to GadgetMatch , although wireless charging has been a viable solution for a long time, researchers have always sought to improve the capabilities of wired chargers as an industry practice. However, with technology constantly evolving, after announcing a new wireless standard earlier this year, the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) has now confirmed that the Qi2 wireless charging standard will start appearing on the market during the holiday season.
iPhone 15 will be one of the first phones with Qi2 charger
Accordingly, the WPC has announced a series of brands that will be able to use the Qi2 wireless charging standard first. Specifically, by Christmas, the first chargers from leading brands such as Belkin, Mophie, Anker and Aircharge will be on the market. In addition, more than a hundred devices are also in the process of receiving certification with the new charging standard.
WPC also confirmed that the iPhone 15 series will start offering Qi2 charger support later this year. A few months ago, WPC announced that Apple had lent its MagSafe technology to support the development of the Qi2 charging standard.
When it reaches consumers, Qi2 promises to deliver faster charging speeds than the current generation (15W compared to 7.5W). In addition, the new charging standard will also have a better magnetic system, adding a magnetic suction mechanism similar to Apple's MagSafe to keep the coils in the right position to increase charging efficiency.
