Bien Hoa pottery was born more than 300 years ago, closely associated with the development of the Southern region. Through many historical changes, Bien Hoa pottery still retains its own soul. Unique, rich and diverse decorative art ceramic products are decorated in a modern and sophisticated way, using light-fire glaze, elegant glaze color, in which the most characteristic feature and pride of Bien Hoa pottery is "flowering copper green glaze".

Bien Hoa pottery is also famous for its unglazed terracotta products with natural beauty, which are very popular in the market. In 1903, Bien Hoa Fine Arts School (now Dong Nai Decorative Arts College) was established, Bien Hoa pottery had an important new turning point in the development process, marked by the aesthetic element with the famous name "Bien Hoa Fine Arts Pottery".
Combining traditional elements of indigenous pottery and Western pottery techniques, Bien Hoa fine art pottery has quickly asserted its independent advantages and its own trends.

The ceramic industry also contributes to the economic development of the province, although still modest.

The Ceramic Festival has many diverse and rich activities, promising to bring people and tourists interesting experiences about Dong Nai land such as: organizing exhibitions of ceramic products; discussion "Solutions to preserve and develop traditional ceramic craft in the integration period"; organizing experience spaces, ceramic destinations at Dong Nai College of Decorative Arts; contest "Designing Festival logo, identifying the brand of Bien Hoa - Dong Nai Traditional Ceramic Festival"; photography "Ideas for designing and decorating traditional ceramic products"; scoring booths displayed at the exhibition, organizing commercial booths to promote OCOP products, typical rural industrial products of Dong Nai province.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Duong Minh Dung said that Dong Nai Pottery Festival is not only an opportunity to honor traditional values and pay tribute to generations of artisans, but also a bridge for Bien Hoa pottery to advance further on the world map of ceramic art, connecting artistic creation, technological innovation and local tourism and economic development.
