The event, organized by Dong Nai General Hospital in collaboration with the Blood Transfusion Center of Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City and the Dong Nai Provincial Red Cross Society, marks a significant milestone in community health care.
According to Mr. Pham Le Nhat Minh, Deputy Director of the Blood Transfusion Center at Cho Ray Hospital, Dong Nai is a bright spot in the voluntary blood donation movement. In 2024 alone, the province contributed nearly 38,000 units of blood, equivalent to about 25% of the total blood received by Cho Ray Hospital. The inauguration of the fixed blood donation center model not only creates a stable blood supply but also serves as a stepping stone to expand the model to other provinces from 2026.
Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial Red Cross Society, Nguyen Tan Hung, affirmed that the new model helps people easily access and proactively manage their time to participate in blood donation, thereby regularly replenishing the blood supply for hospitals. The Society will ensure the rights of blood donors and promote awareness to spread this spirit of compassion.
The blood donation center is fully equipped with facilities and personnel, creating a safe and convenient environment for the public. On opening day, many units of blood were received.
