Dong Thap: Press conference of the 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival in 2025

(DTO) On the morning of December 5, at the Western Lodge Eco-tourism Resort (Sa Dec Ward), the People's Committee of Dong Thap Province held a Press Conference for the 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival in 2025. This is a special cultural and economic event of Dong Thap Province in 2025.

Attending the press conference were comrades: Nguyen Hoang Vu, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Nguyen Thi Uyen Trang, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Nguyen Van Tam, Chairman of the People's Committee of Sa Dec Ward; leaders of provincial departments and branches, and representatives of 60 agencies and press agencies inside and outside the province.

Speaking at the press conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Uyen Trang, Deputy of the Festival Organizing Committee, emphasized: This year's Festival is not only an occasion to honor the century-old flower and ornamental plant growing profession, but also an opportunity for the locality to connect the flower-loving community, inspire creativity; and at the same time, open up a new direction for the flower and ornamental plant industry associated with agricultural tourism.

The Organizing Committee identified three focuses of the Festival: Honoring the value of flower villages - an important foundation of Sa Dec's economy ; enhancing the value of flower and ornamental products through standardizing production processes and creating sustainable livelihoods for people; promoting the image of Dong Thap - Sa Dec in a practical and effective way.

Through the event, Dong Thap hopes to leave many good impressions in the hearts of people and tourists inside and outside the province. At the same time, through exchange, discussion and investment promotion activities, businesses will find business opportunities, cooperation and tourism development in Dong Thap, contributing to the development of the flower and ornamental industry commensurate with its position and inherent potential.

At the press conference, representatives of press and media agencies raised many questions about the Festival programs and issues surrounding the production and business of flowers and ornamental plants such as: Vision to enhance the value of the flower and ornamental plant industry, policies to support farmers, ways to connect tourism so that tourists stay longer in Dong Thap...

The Organizing Committee of the press conference answered questions from representatives of press agencies; at the same time, they hoped that press agencies would continue to promote their role and support the province in communicating the Festival.

The 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival in 2025 will be held at the provincial level, with the theme "New Day Flowers", to continue to honor the Sa Dec flower and ornamental plant growing profession, promote the development of the flower and ornamental plant industry associated with the development of agricultural tourism; introduce and promote Sa Dec Flower Village to domestic and foreign tourists, contributing to building and enhancing the local image.

The Festival takes place from December 27, 2025 to January 4, 2026 at Sa Dec Park (Ton Duc Thang Street, Tan Binh Hamlet) and other locations in Sa Dec Ward.

The event has 20 main activities and 12 supporting activities. The highlight of the Festival is "Sa Dec Flower Space", displaying 1,000 varieties of flowers and ornamental plants and "Ancient Sa Dec Space", recreating the unique culture of the land with a hundred years of flower growing.

Many new activities such as: Dream Space - Reaching the new era, AR/QR experience, AI content creation area, young startup model... promise to attract a large number of young people and international tourists.

In addition, this year's Festival also has a live show "A Hundred Years of Flower Village Fragrance", a music night "Love of People in the Land of Flowers", hot air balloon activities and a Flower and Ornamental Plants market, creating a lively and colorful festival space.

In particular, the Opening Ceremony will take place at 8:00 p.m. on December 27 at the main stage: Sa Dec Square, Sa Dec Ward, broadcast live on Dong Thap Television and several local stations.
