10-day weather forecast from the night of February 6 to February 16 and news of the Northeast monsoon, cold

The National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting has issued a Northeast monsoon bulletin, forecasting the weather for the next 10 days, from the night of February 6th to February 16th, for Hanoi and the whole country.

Accordingly, by the afternoon of February 6th, a cold air mass was moving southward in the North.

Forecasts indicate that around late afternoon and night of February 7th, this cold air mass will affect the northeastern region of Vietnam, then the North Central region, the Northwest region, and some areas in the Central Central region. Inland areas will experience strong northeasterly winds of force 2-3, and coastal areas will experience winds of force 3-4.

From the night of February 7th, the northeastern region of Vietnam will experience cold weather; from February 8th onwards, it will be intensely cold, with some mountainous areas experiencing severe cold.

From February 8th, the Northwest and North Central regions of Vietnam will experience cold weather. During this cold spell, the lowest temperatures in the Northern region will generally range from 11-13 degrees Celsius, with mountainous areas in the Northern region experiencing temperatures from 8-10 degrees Celsius, and some high mountainous areas below 5 degrees Celsius; the North Central region will experience temperatures from 15-17 degrees Celsius.

The meteorological agency warns that the severe cold weather in the northeastern region of Vietnam is likely to last until around February 9th.

From February 9th, the area from Quang Tri to Binh Dinh will experience scattered showers, with localized heavy rain and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

In the Northwest region and the area from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue, there will be scattered rain, with fog and light mist in the early morning, and sunny weather in the afternoon; from February 8th onwards, there will be scattered light rain. It will be cold at night and in the morning, especially in the Northwest region where it will be freezing cold at night and in the early morning.

From February 8th, the Northwest and North Central regions of Vietnam will experience cold weather, with some mountainous areas experiencing severe cold.

In the Northeast region, there will be light rain, drizzle, and fog during the night and morning; from the evening and night of February 7th, there will be scattered light rain. The night and morning will be cold, with freezing temperatures in mountainous areas; the night of February 7th will turn cold, and from February 8th onwards, the weather will be intensely cold, with some mountainous areas experiencing severe cold.

Other areas will have no rain at night and sunny days.

Weather forecast from the night of February 8th to February 16th, 2024

In the Northeast region, from the night of February 8th to 9th, there will be scattered light rain; the weather will be intensely cold, with some mountainous areas experiencing severe cold. From February 10th to 13th, the weather will be cold, with some mountainous areas experiencing intense cold and severe cold. From February 14th onwards, the nights and mornings will be cold.

In the Northwest and North Central regions, there will be rain, scattered light rain, from the night of February 8-9. From the night of February 8 to 12, the weather will be cold, with some areas experiencing severe cold; from February 13 onwards, the nights and mornings will be cold.

The area from Quang Binh to Binh Dinh will experience scattered rain and showers, with thunderstorms in some places, and locally heavy rain, from approximately the night of February 8th to 12th.

Other areas will have no rain at night; sunny during the day, with some areas in the southeastern region experiencing hot weather.
