Hanoi tourism sets record of welcoming 2.08 million visitors on National Day

With a series of important cultural and artistic events and activities, Hanoi welcomed a record number of visitors, 2.08 million, in just 4 days of National Day holiday.

On September 2, the Hanoi Department of Tourism announced the results of service work during the National Day holiday.

This year's National Day holiday on September 2nd lasts from August 30th to September 2nd. On this special occasion of the whole nation, celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, there are many cultural and artistic activities, entertainment, and tourism stimulus with many diverse and attractive products. In particular, the celebration, parade, and march taking place on the morning of September 2nd received the attention of many people nationwide. Therefore, Hanoi attracted a large number of visitors on this occasion.

Specifically, during the 4-day holiday, the capital Hanoi welcomed about 2.08 million visitors, 3 times higher than the same period last year. Of which, international visitors are estimated to welcome over 80 thousand visitors, an increase of 35% compared to the same period in 2024 (some leading markets include: China, Korea, India, Taiwan, USA, Japan, UK, Australia, ...).

Total tourism revenue is about 4.5 trillion VND, an increase of about 80% over the same period in 2024.

The operating capacity of the accommodation block is very high.

The 3-5 star hotel block has high room occupancy rate, many hotels reach 100% occupancy rate such as: Novotel Thai Ha Hotel, Novotel Suites Hotel, Lacasa Hanoi Hotel, Bao Son Hotel, Grand Mercue Hotel... The average room occupancy rate of hotels and tourist apartments is about 83%.

In general, tourist accommodation service businesses have seriously implemented security, safety, fire prevention, food safety and hygiene, environmental sanitation, reporting regime, temporary residence and temporary absence declaration. Accommodation businesses have fully complied with regulations.

Cultural and artistic activities contribute to attracting people to Hanoi.

To achieve the above results, in addition to the outstanding activities of the Central Government such as: Celebration, parade, march; Exhibition "80 years of Independence-Freedom-Happiness journey" (National Exhibition Fair Center)..., Hanoi city, including the tourism industry, has organized many attractive cultural and artistic activities to serve the people coming to Hanoi to celebrate National Day.

Typical examples include: the “Red Color of Ba Dinh” program and a series of activities promoting Hanoi’s cultural and historical tourism in 2025 in Ba Dinh ward; the Hanoi- Bac Ninh 2-storey train tour program called “The Hanoi Train - Hanoi 5-Cua O Tourist Train”…

Within the framework of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2, the Hanoi Department of Tourism in coordination with the Center for the Essence of Vietnamese Craft Villages organized a program to welcome foreign reporters and overseas Vietnamese reporters to visit and experience some tourist attractions in the area.

Tourist attractions and areas in the city have many exciting and attractive activities and events. Typical activities include exhibitions at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Site; the exhibition "Education for All - Lighting Up the Future"; the special art program "Hanoi - Forever Shining Vietnam's Aspiration" at the National Exhibition Center; the special art program at My Dinh National Stadium, or the fireworks display to celebrate this great event at 5 locations: Hoan Kiem Lake, West Lake, Van Quan Lake, Thong Nhat Park, My Dinh National Stadium.

Tourist attractions that attract a lot of visitors during this time include Hanoi Zoo welcoming about 33,000 visitors, Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam welcoming about 18,000 visitors, Hoa Lo Prison welcoming 26,420 visitors, Thang Long Imperial Citadel welcoming about 33,000 visitors...

Although the number of visitors to Hanoi is very large, tourist attractions and accommodation establishments organize to welcome visitors with quality assurance; security and order, traffic safety, food safety and hygiene, environmental sanitation and tourist service conditions almost do not have negative or unusual situations./.
