On August 8th, in Hanoi, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Zhejiang Province (China) organized a cultural tourism exchange promotion program between Zhejiang, China and Vietnam with the theme "Enjoying Poetry and Painting".

In China, Zhejiang province, with its city of Hangzhou, has long been a familiar destination for Vietnamese tourists, as part of the Beijing-Shanghai-Hangzhou-Suzhou travel route. The 19th Asian Games (ASIAD) in September-October this year will be a great opportunity for Zhejiang to attract tourists, including Vietnamese visitors. The program will showcase the unique cultural features of Zhejiang, the Asian Games , and provide an overview of Zhejiang's distinctive tourism resources.
With the theme "Enjoying Poetry and Painting," the program partially recreated a Zhejiang rich in cultural elements, such as the art of tea appreciation and listening to the sounds of the ancient zither.
According to Ms. Trinh Ni, Head of the Educational Technology Department of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Zhejiang and Vietnam have had a close and harmonious relationship since ancient times, from tea ceremony to calligraphy, from painting to chess, with both sides constantly learning from each other.
In the near future, the 19th Asian Games and the 4th Asian Para Games, held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, will be an opportunity for Vietnamese people to visit Zhejiang province to enjoy the beautiful scenery, savor delicious cuisine, watch sporting events, and fully experience the beauty, modern style, innovative spirit, and hospitality of Zhejiang.
At the event, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism introduced three new tours of the province: Exploring the thousand-year-old ancient capital to awaken memories of Zhejiang; a poetry recitation tour along the banks of three rivers, tourism in support of the Asian Games; and a tour to see Zhejiang poetry and paintings, tourism in support of the Asian Games.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Mr. Nguyen Quy Phuong, Head of the Tourism Promotion Management Department of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, emphasized that China has always been a key market for Vietnam's tourism industry. In the first seven months of 2023, Vietnam welcomed over 737,000 Chinese tourists, and China remains the leading market. At the same time, China is also a popular destination for many Vietnamese tourists.
"These are positive signs, and it requires the attention of both sides' authorities and businesses to further promote tourism and strengthen air connectivity between Zhejiang and major Vietnamese tourist centers such as Da Nang, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City," Mr. Phuong affirmed.
