During US President Joe Biden's visit to Vietnam, FPT Corporation Chairman Truong Gia Binh announced his investment strategy in the US and the development of high-quality human resources in the field of AI.
Attending the Vietnam-US Summit on Innovation and Investment held in Hanoi on September 11 with the participation of Vietnamese Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and delegations from both countries. Mr. Truong Gia Binh - Chairman of FPT emphasized the group's commitment to promoting investment in the US, developing AI and the semiconductor industry , thereby strengthening bilateral relations between Vietnam and the US.
The FPT Chairman 's proposal to the US government includes two main contents: First, FPT supports comprehensive policies from the US government to nurture the development of the semiconductor ecosystem in Vietnam. FPT Corporation also proposed that the government invest in training from 30,000 to 50,000 semiconductor experts to meet the growing needs of the industry, pledging to make efforts to contribute to this goal.
Mr. Truong Gia Binh affirmed: “As a representative of Vietnamese enterprises, FPT hopes that the US Government will have comprehensive support policies to turn Vietnam into a country with a semiconductor ecosystem. FPT proposes that the US Government call for investment in Vietnam, especially from large enterprises such as Boeing, AT&T, Qualcomm, Intel, Ford, etc. We also hope that the Vietnamese Government will create favorable legal conditions and commit to investing in developing and training semiconductor human resources of about 30,000 - 50,000 people.”
On this occasion, FPT Corporation announced a comprehensive strategic cooperation with LandingAI - a pioneer in the field of machine vision and artificial intelligence in Silicon Valley (USA) to accelerate the process of bringing AI into training at the FPT Education system.
Previously, FPT University announced the establishment of the Semiconductor Microchip Faculty, aiming to supplement the high-quality human resources that are lacking in Vietnam. The Faculty is expected to welcome the first batch of students in 2024 with the orientation of in-depth training in microchip design.
