Nearly 20,000 billion VND committed to invest in Vinh Long

The People's Committee of Vinh Long province awarded 13 decisions and investment commitments with a total capital of 19,600 billion VND, at the conference to announce planning and promote investment, on March 23.

Investment projects focus on the fields of food processing industry, agricultural and aquatic products, leather shoes; concrete production, automobile wires, oil and gas depots; urban area construction...

Mr. Lu Quang Ngoi, Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee, said that the provincial leaders are committed to building a healthy, equal and transparent investment and business environment; creating the most favorable conditions and always accompanying investors and businesses to successfully implement projects and develop sustainably in the locality.

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh noted that investors come to the Mekong Delta as well as Vinh Long with affection and responsibility, sharing, listening, acting and developing together; doing business in accordance with the law, contributing to social security.

"Investment commitments must be fulfilled, promises must be kept, and the work must have measurable results, harmonizing the interests of the state, the people and businesses...", the head of the Government emphasized.

Vinh Long is over 1,479 km2 wide, located in the center of the Mekong Delta, between the Tien and Hau rivers; population over one million people. In the 2015-2020 term, the province achieved an economic growth rate of nearly 5%, the average income per capita in 2020 reached 55.5 million VND, an increase of 18 million VND compared to 2015. The province strives to become a fast and sustainable developing locality by 2025.

The planning of Vinh Long province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, was approved by the Prime Minister at the end of 2023. Accordingly, the goal by 2030 is for Vinh Long to become a high-tech, ecological agricultural province; one of the agricultural economic centers of the region; with a synchronous, modern, and well-connected infrastructure system. The average economic growth in the period 2021-2030 is 7%/year.

By 2050, Vinh Long will be a comprehensively developed, civilized, modern, ecological, sustainable province with a fairly high level of development compared to the whole country...
