Comrade Hoang Viet Phuong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting. Previously, the Green Synthesis Project of Nanocomposite Fe/CoFe2O4/rGO materials used as photocatalysts to treat herbicide residues in aquatic environments, conducted by two students Pham Chu Quang Minh and Pham Tran Khac Nguyen, Tuyen Quang Specialized High School under the guidance of teacher Hoang Chau Thien, won first prize in the National Science and Technology Competition for high school students in the 2023-2024 school year and is one of nine excellent projects selected by the Ministry of Education and Training to participate in the 2024 International Science and Technology Competition, which will take place in the United States from May 11 to 17, 2024.

At the meeting, the leaders of the Department of Education and Training and representatives of the project implementation team reported on the preparations for the International Science and Technology Competition. Accordingly, immediately after the results of the National Science and Technology Competition for High School Students were announced, the Department of Education and Training directed Tuyen Quang Specialized High School to continue to complete the project according to the comments of the Jury and experts. Along with that, the project implementation team has actively prepared, continued to complete the project and is now ready to participate in the international competition.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Viet Phuong congratulated and commended the instructors and 2 students of Tuyen Quang Specialized High School for their efforts to achieve high results in science and technology competitions at all levels. At the same time, he acknowledged the efforts of the provincial Education and Training sector in recent times to achieve many important achievements, contributing to the overall development of the province.

He emphasized that this is the second consecutive time that Tuyen Quang students' projects have been selected for international science and technology competitions. This is an honor and pride for Tuyen Quang province, the education sector, Tuyen Quang Specialized High School, teachers, families and students. This achievement motivates students in the province to be more active in participating in scientific research, applying knowledge to solve problems in real life; creating opportunities for high school students to introduce scientific research results and exchange education between localities and international integration.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Education and Training, the Specialized High School and members with projects participating in the contest to continue to carefully prepare all conditions; comply with the requirements of the Organizing Committee, regulations in the schedule and program of the contest; teacher Hoang Chau Thien and students continue to try harder, promote their capacity, intelligence, and confidence to achieve the highest results in the contest, trying to bring glory to the country and the province.

In recognition of the authors' achievements, the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province has decided to award a Certificate of Merit and a bonus to the authors; the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education gave gifts to encourage teachers and 2 students whose projects participated in the 2024 International Science and Technology Competition. In particular, the Provincial People's Committee also decided to support more than 500 million VND in expenses for the authors to participate in the 2024 International Science and Technology Competition.
