Quang Ngai province organizes vaccination program for livestock against diseases.
Mr. Do Van Chung, Head of the Livestock and Veterinary Department of Quang Ngai province, said that the Department of Agriculture and Environment issued Official Letter No. 296/CNTY-TY dated November 6, 2025, requesting localities to register their needs for disinfectant chemicals after storms and floods. Currently, the Department is compiling and distributing more than 10,788 liters of chemicals to communes and wards to implement the "Month of General Sanitation, Disinfection and Sterilization, Phase 2/2025".
Besides disinfection, the Sub-Department also conducted the second round of vaccinations in 2025 with a total of 97,000 doses of foot-and-mouth disease vaccine for buffaloes and cattle, nearly 47,000 doses of lumpy skin disease vaccine, and over 873,000 doses of avian influenza vaccine. The Sub-Department's leadership stated that timely guidance from the province helped localities implement comprehensive disease prevention and control measures.
However, the prolonged cold and rainy weather reduces the resistance of livestock, creating conditions for infectious diseases to develop. Some communes have not allocated enough veterinary personnel, affecting disease prevention and control efforts. The Department has proposed allocating sufficient personnel and contingency funds to improve the effectiveness of disease prevention under adverse weather conditions.
