On the New York floor, arabica coffee for September 2025 delivery fell 4.8 US cents/pound (1.21%) to 393 US cents/pound, but the December 2025 contract inched up 1.4 US cents/pound (0.37%) to 383.2 US cents/pound.

Domestically, coffee prices in the Central Highlands on the morning of September 11, 2025 decreased by VND 1,000/kg, currently fluctuating between VND 113,500 - 114,600/kg.

In the old Dak Nong , traders purchased at the highest price of 114,600 VND/kg, 1,000 VND/kg lower than yesterday.

Dak Lak province recorded a price of 114,500 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND/kg.

Gia Lai traded at 114,300 VND/kg, also 1,000 VND/kg lower than yesterday.

Lam Dong price is 113,500 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND/kg.

The coffee industry is currently in the lean season, with the new harvest starting in November 2025, leading to increased supply, which often causes prices to fall.

The average coffee price is currently at 115,600 VND/kg, still 6,700 - 7,200 VND/kg (5-6%) lower than the peak at the end of August.

Thanks to two consecutive high price crops, farmers in Vietnam and Brazil have more stable financial resources, thereby being proactive in selling, helping to maintain prices at profitable levels.

Vietnam's coffee exports in the last months of the year are forecast to grow positively thanks to strong demand from Europe, the US and Asia, while international prices continue to remain high.

The global situation also had a big impact when Brazil announced that August exports reached 142,800 tons, down 31% year-on-year, causing global supply shortages.

The coffee industry still faces challenges from weather fluctuations, increased transportation costs and strict requirements on quality and traceability, requiring a focus on stabilizing supply sources, developing deep processing and improving product standards.

Pepper price developments

Pepper market on September 11, 2025 recorded prices in Dong Nai slightly decreased compared to yesterday, bringing the general level of the whole country to 150,000 - 153,000 VND/kg.

In the Central Highlands, Dak Lak pepper price remains unchanged at 153,000 VND/kg.

Gia Lai maintains the price at 150,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday.

Lam Dong (formerly Dak Nong) is also stable at 153,000 VND/kg.

In the Southeast, pepper prices in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Ba Ria - Vung Tau) and Dong Nai remained at 152,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday.

In particular, Dong Nai (former Binh Phuoc) slightly decreased by 1,000 VND/kg to 150,000 VND/kg.

In the international market, the International Pepper Association (IPC) announced on September 10: Lampung black pepper price (Indonesia) is stable at 7,087 USD/ton, Muntok white pepper is at 10,042 USD/ton.

In Brazil, ASTA black pepper decreased by 1.54% to 6,500 USD/ton, while ASTA black pepper from Malaysia remained at 9,700 USD/ton, and ASTA white pepper remained at 12,900 USD/ton.

Vietnam's pepper export prices remain unchanged, with 500 gr/l black pepper reaching 6,240 USD/ton, 550 gr/l reaching 6,370 USD/ton, and white pepper remaining at 9,150 USD/ton.

Domestically, pepper prices increased from 142,000 - 143,000 VND/kg on August 20 to 150,000 - 153,000 VND/kg in early September.

According to the Vietnam Pepper Association (VPSA), supply from households decreased sharply after the end of the May harvest, while businesses still need goods to complete export contracts.

In addition, the US policy of imposing a 40% tax on transit goods causes businesses to limit the import of raw materials, creating additional pressure to increase prices.

Pepper exports in the first eight months of 2025 exceeded 1 billion USD - the highest level in 7 years. In August alone, the country exported 166,510 tons, reaching more than 1.1 billion USD. Although output decreased by 9.4% compared to the same period, turnover increased by 28% thanks to high selling prices.

The US remained the largest market, accounting for 21.4% of turnover with 35,697 tonnes, but down 31% in output. Meanwhile, China increased by 58% to 13,282 tonnes, the UAE increased by 9.7% and India increased by 13.7%.

It is forecasted that from now until the end of 2025, pepper prices will hardly decrease sharply due to strong demand from China and India, but low export output remains a challenge, forcing the pepper industry to need a strategy to stabilize supply and expand the market to maintain sustainable growth.
