The Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA) informed that the Vietnamese pepper industry is facing a great opportunity to break through and set a new record in export value in 2025.

According to statistics, from the beginning of 2025 until now, domestic pepper prices have increased by 10,000 - 12,000 VND/kg, in February 2025 alone, the price of this item increased by 10,000 - 11,000 VND/kg. Experts say pepper prices may increase in the short term, especially if China, one of the largest customers of Vietnamese pepper, increases imports again. However, pepper prices may stagnate as supplies from the new harvest are gradually replenished.

According to VPSA's forecast, global pepper output continues to decline while consumption demand remains stable, creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese pepper exports.

The strong growth in pepper export value in the first months of 2025 can be explained by many factors, including the forecast decrease in global pepper output in 2025, leading to scarcity and pushing up prices. Global pepper consumption remains stable, especially in major markets such as the United States and Europe. More importantly, Vietnamese pepper is highly appreciated for its quality, meeting the needs of demanding markets.

Mr. Thai Nhu Hiep - Chairman of the Board of Directors, Director of Vinh Hiep Company Limited said that global pepper output in 2025 will continue to decrease while consumption demand remains stable, which will create favorable conditions for export.
