Gold price today June 22: Buying gold rings lost 4.5 million VND after a week

Gold prices fell slightly but buyers suffered heavy losses as the buying and selling gap remained high.

The price of gold bars at Saigon Jewelry Company - SJC is currently being bought at 117.7 million VND, sold at 119.7 million VND, down 100,000 VND for buying and 600,000 VND for selling compared to the end of last week. Those who bought gold bars last weekend suffered a loss of up to 2.6 million VND/tael after a week due to the difference in buying and selling prices.

In particular, the purchase price of 4-number 9 gold rings at SJC Company remained unchanged at 113.7 million VND and decreased by 100,000 VND for the selling price, down to 116.2 million VND. Meanwhile, Bao Tin Minh Chau Company reduced the purchase price of gold rings by 1.5 million VND to 114.5 million VND and the selling price by 117.5 million VND. This company continued to maintain the highest selling price of gold rings in the market and the difference in buying and selling prices of gold rings also remained at a high level of 3 million VND/tael. This caused customers who bought gold rings at Bao Tin Minh Chau to lose up to 4.5 million VND/tael.

The world gold price is still at 3,367 USD/ounce, down 66.5 USD compared to the end of last week. The precious metal has been continuously falling as the low inflation rate in the US has helped the USD recover. Despite the continued escalation of military tensions in the Middle East, the gold price has not been able to maintain its upward momentum.

However, many experts and investors still predict that gold prices will increase next week. Specifically, of the 16 analysts participating in Kitco News' survey on the trend of precious metals, 6 people, equivalent to 38%, said that gold prices will increase next week; 5 people, equivalent to 31%, predicted a decrease and 5 people said that the precious metal will move sideways.

Similarly, in an online survey of 258 individual investors, 138 people, or 54%, predicted that gold prices would increase. On the contrary, 55 people, or 21%, predicted a decrease, and the remaining 65 investors, or 25%, thought that gold would fluctuate sideways./.
