The 16th National Unity Journalism Award 2023-2024

The 16th "For the Cause of National Unity" Journalism Award, 2023-2024, is organized by the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in coordination with the Vietnam Journalists Association and will award prizes to winning works on the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam National United Front - the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2024).

Eligible participants: All professional and non-professional journalists, contributors, and correspondents of domestic news agencies and overseas Vietnamese with journalistic works that meet the content requirements of the 16th "For the Cause of National Unity" Journalism Award, 2023-2024, are eligible to submit their works.

Entries for the Award must be original, accurately and promptly reflecting the content of propaganda on the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and regulations, and the action program of the Vietnam Fatherland Front .   Regarding building and strengthening the great unity of the entire nation.

At the same time, the work needs to convey content related to the participation of the Fatherland Front at all levels in building a clean and strong Party and State; the work of preventing and combating corruption and negative phenomena, practicing thrift and combating waste; the work of supervising cadres, Party members, and civil servants in residential areas; the implementation of grassroots democracy regulations; and the Fatherland Front Congresses at all levels, leading up to the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front .

The works truthfully reflect the political , cultural, socio-economic, defense, and security situation, as well as major events of the country and localities; the sentiments, aspirations, and good deeds of intellectuals, religious leaders, exemplary individuals from various ethnic groups, and overseas Vietnamese who have made practical contributions to national unity; and refute false and distorted arguments and information regarding the Party and State's policies and guidelines.

In addition, the campaign will publicize the results of the implementation of the five action programs of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; the work of building national unity; the campaigns "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", the emulation movements "Unity and Creativity", "The whole country joins hands for the poor - No one left behind", activities of "Gratitude and repayment" , the "Month of Action for the Poor"...

The types of journalism eligible for the Award include: print newspapers, online newspapers, radio broadcasts, television broadcasts, and photojournalism. The categories include: research papers, feature articles, interviews, reports, investigative reports, short reports (radio and television), documentaries, news bulletins, special features, columns, panel discussions, investigations, journalistic essays, commentaries, analytical articles, and photojournalism (excluding video clips on online newspapers).

Each author may submit a maximum of 5 works. A group of authors may not exceed 7 members.

Submission period for entries: from June 21, 2023 to July 31, 2024 (based on postmark).
Address for submitting entries to the Award: Organizing Committee of the "For the Cause of National Unity" Journalism Award, Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (46 Trang Thi Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi).

Detailed information on the regulations for the 16th "For the Cause of National Unity" Journalism Award is posted on the websites of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Vietnam Journalists Association, at www.mattran.org.vn and www.hoinhabaovietnam.vn .

On March 22, 2024, the Propaganda Department of the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee issued document No. 1128-CV/BTGTU regarding the promotion and participation in the 16th "For the Cause of National Unity" Journalism Award, 2023-2024.

Accordingly, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department requested that localities, agencies, and units pay attention to coordinating the implementation of several contents: Implementing and widely publicizing the 16th "For the Cause of National Unity" Journalism Award, 2023-2024, ensuring appropriateness, effectiveness, and actively coordinating and creating conditions for journalists and reporters from media agencies to learn about, work on, and create works to participate in the Award.

The Provincial Journalists Association and provincial media agencies are responsible for publishing and publicizing the Award and its regulations, and for directing and encouraging members, journalists, reporters, and editors to actively participate in the Award and achieve high-quality results.
