After three weeks of exciting competition, the 24th National Agencies' Expanded Football Tournament for the People's Representatives Newspaper Cup 2023 concluded on the morning of November 25th with Vietnam Airlines team winning the championship.
The final match between Vietnam Airlines and Vietnam Television was exciting and dramatic, ending in a 1-1-1 draw after regulation time. Vietnam Airlines then won the Central Agencies Football Tournament for the People's Representatives Newspaper Cup for the first time, securing a 5-3 victory in the penalty shootout.

Earlier, in the third-place match, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment team defeated the Ministry of Planning and Investment team with a score of 1-0.
A new feature of this year's tournament is the addition of the "Shining Gem" award, with the remaining teams competing. As a result, the "Shining Gem" award was given to three teams: the National Assembly Office, the Ministry of Public Security Office, and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The expanded football tournament for central agencies, organized annually by the People's Representatives Newspaper, aims to create a healthy and beneficial playground, promote sports activities, and improve the health of officials, civil servants, and employees of participating agencies and units. This year, the tournament continues to attract the participation of 16 teams from the Central Party Office, the Presidential Office, the Government Office, the National Assembly Office, several ministries and sectors, and large corporations and enterprises.
Over the past three weeks, the teams have competed fiercely in 41 matches (including 9 matches for the "Shining Gem" award), with 103 goals scored, averaging 2.5 goals per match. The top scorer was Nguyen Viet Son (Ministry of Foreign Affairs team, 5 goals). The best goalkeeper of the tournament was Dang Trong Hai (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment team).
The Head of the Organizing Committee - Editor-in-Chief of the People's Representatives Newspaper, Pham Thi Thanh Huyen, presented medals to the players.
In her closing remarks, Pham Thi Thanh Huyen, Editor-in-Chief of the People's Representatives Newspaper and Head of the Organizing Committee, congratulated and praised the fair-play spirit, teamwork, and high discipline of the players, who provided the audience with many exciting plays and beautiful goals; and the impartial and responsible work of the referees, which contributed to the success of the tournament. Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Huyen expressed her hope that the solidarity, camaraderie, and friendship forged after the tournament would be maintained and fostered by officials, civil servants, and employees of the agencies and units in their work and lives.
