On September 1st, Dr. Nguyen Tri Thuc, Director of Cho Ray Hospital, announced that he had issued a notice reminding staff about activities related to drug use in the hospital. The notice was signed on August 31st.
According to the Director of Cho Ray Hospital, the use of medication for patients is very important. If the quality of medication is not guaranteed or the origin of medication is unclear, it will lead to the risk of harming patients' health.
To limit the risk to patients from the use of substandard or improper drugs, all staff of Cho Ray Hospital, especially doctors and nurses, must comply with current regulations on drug management and use during the process of consulting, instructing, and prescribing drugs for patients.

Specifically, the Director of Cho Ray Hospital strictly prohibits advising, guiding, or prescribing to patients any drugs that are not authorized for circulation in Vietnam, drugs that are "imported illegally," or drugs of unknown origin.
He emphasized that medical staff at Cho Ray Hospital are not allowed to cooperate with individuals offering to buy or sell drugs in violation of the law on drug supply and sale.
Patients and their relatives are not allowed to be instructed or referred to purchase medication outside the hospital premises without following the hospital's procedures and regulations, or the law.
Under no circumstances should individuals bring their own medications or medical supplies into the hospital pharmacy for sale or distribution to patients without adhering to hospital regulations.
Medical information must not be used as a basis to guide, direct, persuade, or prescribe the use of dietary supplements as if they were medicines for patients.
"Heads of clinical departments, pharmacy departments and other departments are responsible for inspecting and supervising activities related to medical examination and treatment, prescription, supply and use of drugs to promptly detect violations or signs of violations, remind, adjust work and handle immediately," the Director of Cho Ray Hospital directed, and also requested departments and functional departments to report violations or signs of violations, especially cases with signs of collective, systematic or organized violations.
The Director of Cho Ray Hospital affirmed that they will strictly handle individuals who intentionally violate regulations related to the guidance, direction, prescription, supply, and use of medications. Violations will not be considered as mitigating circumstances.
