The biggest concern is that many of the people's crops will be damaged due to the water not receding in time, while typhoon KALMAEGI is approaching the Central region. Over the past two days, officers and soldiers of Duc Minh Border Guard Station (Quang Ngai Province Military Command) have been working day and night in residential areas to help people harvest tons of cassava that are submerged in water, helping to minimize damage to farmers.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Tien, Minh Tan Nam village, Mo Cay commune, has 3 sao of cassava that are ready for harvest. The recent heavy rain caused the water from Bau Nuoc Roc to rise, deeply flooding his family's cassava growing area. It has been 3 days since the rain ended, but Bau Nuoc Roc was full of water and drained slowly, so the cassava fields are still deeply submerged. Mr. Tien said that he was the only one growing these 3 sao of cassava to earn a living, but when it was time to harvest, the floodwaters submerged him.

"There has never been a year with such heavy rain and high floodwaters as this year. The high water makes it difficult to handle, but fortunately, soldiers are helping with the harvest. Therefore, hopefully the flooded cassava area will suffer less damage. I am very happy and grateful to the soldiers who have accompanied and helped people during the difficult days due to the floods," said Mr. Tien.

In the cassava field of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thu Hoa, Minh Tan Nam village, Mo Cay commune these days, the soldiers in green shirts are still wading through mud and water to harvest and move cassava from the deep flooded field to the concrete road in the village. In the past few days, the rains have been so heavy that the floodwaters have risen high and submerged the cassava fields. If the harvest is not done in time, the crop will be lost. The border guards have not hesitated to go down to the fields to help harvest cassava in the floodwaters, so the people are very happy. With the help of the soldiers, the damage to the family as well as the households here will be reduced.

Lieutenant Tran Bui Ngoc Thach, Duc Minh Border Guard Station, Quang Ngai Province, said that the soldiers' mindset is always to be proactive in preventing natural disasters as well as when people need them. In recent days, the soldiers have accompanied the people in responding to natural disasters, no one is afraid of the hardship of racing against time, always wanting to minimize damage for the people.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tien Hai - Political Commissar of Duc Minh Border Guard Station, Quang Ngai province said, with the motto "Ensuring maximum safety, minimizing damage", Duc Minh Border Guard Station has mobilized nearly 30 officers and soldiers to go to the deeply flooded areas, together with the people to urgently harvest agricultural products, saving what they can before the approaching storm KALMAEGI. In the past 3 days, the soldiers have helped the people of Mo Cay commune where the unit is stationed to harvest more than 1.5 hectares of cassava. The soldiers were directed to continue to stay in the area to help people continue to harvest the remaining agricultural products to avoid the impact and damage caused by the upcoming storm.

The practical and timely actions of the Quang Ngai Border Guard in the highland landslide areas as well as the areas facing difficulties due to floods in recent days not only help people preserve their property and crops, but also demonstrate the solidarity between the army and the people who always accompany and stand side by side in difficult times.
