During the meeting , Mr. Saed El-Achkar stated that H&M is one of the world's leading fashion retail groups, currently operating over 4,000 stores in more than 75 countries and territories . The company has been present in Vietnam since 2017, with 14 stores and an online sales channel launched in 2023. In addition to retail , H&M also collaborates with many factories in Vietnam, creating jobs for tens of thousands of workers .

H&M's leadership expressed their desire to learn about the procedures for leasing a location and opening a new store in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City ; they also shared their plans for applying technology , digital transformation , and developing a modern , sustainable, and environmentally friendly retail model .

Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung highly appreciated the presence and contributions of H &M to the Vietnamese textile and fashion market . He stated that, after the administrative boundary merger with Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Binh Duong provinces , Ho Chi Minh City has more space and potential for H & M to expand its investment activities .
The city leaders affirmed that the government always creates favorable conditions for international businesses, including H & M, and expressed their appreciation for the partnership of the Swedish business community in the city 's economic development .
