On March 6th, according to sources from Nguoi Dua Tin , the Party Committee of the People's Committee of Hai Phong City sent Document No. 87-CV/BCSĐ to the Standing Committee of the Hai Phong City Party Committee requesting guidance on the location and arrangement of the stage and grandstands for the 2024 Red Phoenix Flower Festival art program.
Accordingly, from 2012 to 2023, the Red Phoenix Flower Festival art program was held in the area of the Hai Phong City Theater Square and the flagpole square in the city center.
It is estimated that the average number of attendees at the festival is around 10,000 people, while the grandstand area can only accommodate just over 4,000 people. Therefore, this affects the scale of the festival as well as the needs of locals and tourists.
Furthermore, the location of the art program in the city center, an area with high traffic density, often leads to traffic congestion and negatively impacts the participating organizations.
The Red Flamboyant Flower Festival, held annually since 2012, has become a unique brand of Hai Phong, attracting a large number of locals and tourists.
In light of this situation, the Party Committee of the People's Committee of Hai Phong City proposes that the Standing Committee of the Hai Phong City Party Committee organize the Red Phoenix Flower Festival 2024 art program in the Political -Administrative Center area in the North of Cam River New Urban Area in Thuy Nguyen District.
The Red Flamboyant Flower Festival is an annual local event that began in 2012 to commemorate the liberation of Hai Phong (May 13th). In 2024, the festival's theme was "Hai Phong - Shining Brightly in the Land of Heritage," aiming to showcase the image, build the brand, and enhance the position and prestige of Hai Phong domestically and internationally.
This will promote the development of the cultural industry, diversify and improve the quality of tourism products; strengthen information, promotion, and tourism marketing; contribute to the economic restructuring and socio-economic development of the city; and encourage efforts to exceed the targets and indicators of the socio-economic development, national defense, and security plan for 2024.
The Red Flamboyant Flower Festival - Hai Phong 2024 is associated with the 69th anniversary of the liberation of Hai Phong (May 13, 1955 - May 13, 2024) and the awarding of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage title to Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago .
