On October 26th, according to a report from the People's Committee of Tra Leng commune, Da Nang city, due to the complex weather situation with heavy rain, the Leng River's water level rose and flowed rapidly, leading to a risk of embankment erosion at Tra Leng 2 Primary School.
Meanwhile, at Tra Leng 1 Secondary School, 35 boarding students have been asked to stay at the school.

The People's Committee of Tra Leng commune has instructed the school to instruct students not to go outside, and has assigned teachers to monitor the situation to ensure safety.
Later that same day, the Da Nang City Department of Education and Training issued a document to the People's Committees of wards and communes, and schools, regarding proactive measures to respond to adverse weather conditions.
The Department of Education and Training requests that heads of units and schools develop plans to ensure the safety of teachers, staff, preschool children, students, trainees, and the property and documents of their units and schools in the face of rain and floods.
Chairpersons of the People's Committees of wards and communes, and heads of schools and centers (especially in mountainous areas at risk of landslides and flash floods) shall, based on the actual situation, decide whether to allow preschool children, students, and trainees to take time off from school (when necessary).

The Department of Education and Training notes that, in all situations, while preschool children, students, and trainees are still present at school, the school must assign teachers and staff to manage, care for, and ensure their safety.
Ethnic boarding and semi-boarding schools should strengthen the management and care of preschool children and primary and secondary school students, ensuring that students do not leave until safety conditions are guaranteed.
Vocational and higher education institutions, including private universities, shall proactively decide on the enrollment of students and trainees based on the situation.
According to the Central Vietnam Meteorological and Hydrological Station, from 1 PM on October 25th to 1 PM on October 26th, the southern part of Da Nang city experienced widespread rainfall of 100-200mm.
From the afternoon of October 26th to the evening of October 28th, the city continued to experience heavy rain. The total rainfall in the southwestern mountainous areas recorded the highest amounts of 250-450mm, with some places exceeding 600mm.
