TPO – According to statistics, at the end of the first phase, in Ho Chi Minh City, there were around 20 universities that had not met their enrollment targets and had to continue recruiting additional students, including many public universities.
Specifically, Ho Chi Minh City Open University has just announced the supplementary admissions for its regular undergraduate programs in 2024.
Accordingly, for the regular undergraduate programs with degrees awarded by the university, the university is recruiting an additional 150 students for 6 majors. For these majors, the university will select students based on the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam. The minimum score for application acceptance is 16 points, which is the score from the three exam subjects converted to a 30-point scale and rounded to two decimal places, plus regional and preferential treatment points.
For programs under international joint programs with partner universities awarding degrees, Ho Chi Minh City Open University considers high school academic results (transcripts) for admission. The minimum application score is only 16 points.
The school notes that if a candidate admitted to the joint program does not yet have the required English certificate, the school will organize an English exam, and only those who pass will be officially admitted.
In the supplementary admission round, each candidate can register two preferences in order of priority from highest to lowest. Candidates will only be admitted to one preference. The school accepts supplementary admission applications from 9:00 AM on August 28th to 5:00 PM on September 5th.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade announces supplementary admissions for 4 undergraduate programs in 2024: Seafood Processing Technology, Chemical Engineering Technology, Environmental Engineering Technology, and Textile Technology. The admission methods and minimum application scores are as follows:
– High school graduation exam scores in 2024: minimum score of 17 for all majors.
– Use high school academic results from grades 10, 11, and the first semester of grade 12; minimum application score is 20 or higher.
– A score of 600 points or higher in the 2024 National University of Ho Chi Minh City's aptitude test.
– Direct admission and priority direct admission will be based on the school's own scheme, with a minimum application requirement of 24 years or more.
The deadline for submitting applications is 5 PM on August 30th.
The Admissions Council of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City announces the supplementary admission of 100 places for regular undergraduate programs in 2024, to be studied at the Vinh Long Branch Campus. Accordingly, the application period begins today (August 28th) and ends at 5 PM on September 27th.
Additional recruitment for the following majors: Business English (5 positions), Taxation (10 positions), Technology and Innovation (25 positions), Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (25 positions), Agricultural Business (25 positions), and Hotel Management (10 positions).
Ton Duc Thang University is recruiting students for many training programs using three admission methods: admission based on high school academic results, admission based on the 2024 high school graduation exam results, and admission based on the 2024 aptitude test results of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City.
The Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment also announced the recruitment of an additional 360 students based on the results of the high school graduation exam. For the method of considering high school transcripts, the university is recruiting an additional 285 students. The application period for both methods is from August 28th to 5 PM on September 12th.
The Vietnam Aviation Academy is recruiting an additional 600 students, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Finance and Marketing is recruiting an additional 50 students for its international joint program, and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport is also conducting supplementary admissions for several majors.
Previously, many private universities had already announced they were accepting applications for numerous majors even before the first round of admissions had ended. Universities conducting supplementary admissions include: Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Van Lang University, Van Hien University, Saigon International University, Hoa Sen University, Hong Bang International University, Gia Dinh University, Hung Vuong University, etc.
Besides universities in Ho Chi Minh City, many other universities in the southern region such as Lac Hong University (Dong Nai), Pacific University and Nha Trang University (Khanh Hoa), Quy Nhon University (Binh Dinh), Central Vietnam University of Construction, Western Vietnam University of Construction… are also conducting supplementary admissions for thousands of places.
According to a preliminary report from the Ministry of Education and Training, in 2024, 733,652 candidates nationwide registered for university admissions through the system. After the filtering process, 673,586 candidates were admitted in the first round, reaching over 91% of the total number of registered candidates.
By 5 PM on August 27th, the deadline for online enrollment confirmation on the Ministry of Education and Training's admissions system (after this time, candidates who do not confirm their enrollment will be considered to have declined the opportunity to be admitted in the first round), 551,479 candidates nationwide had confirmed their enrollment.
Thus, compared to the number of admitted candidates, the number of candidates who confirmed their enrollment reached nearly 82%. The number of candidates who did not confirm their enrollment, i.e., declined admission in the first round, was over 122,000.
Compared to the number of candidates who registered for university entrance exams, the number of candidates who confirmed their enrollment reached over 75%.
