Thousands of people attended the opening ceremony of the 10th Da Lat Flower Festival.

(CLO) On the evening of December 5th, more than 15,000 locals and tourists gathered at Lam Vien Square, Da Lat City ( Lam Dong province) to attend the opening ceremony of the 10th Da Lat Flower Festival, in the cool weather of 17 degrees Celsius.

Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, along with leaders from central ministries and agencies, international guests, and leaders of Lam Dong province, attended the event.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh emphasized the role of Da Lat – "The City of a Thousand Flowers" – not only as a famous tourist destination with its cool climate and beautiful scenery, but also as a place where unique cultural and architectural values ​​converge.

He highly appreciated the success of the previous nine Flower Festivals and affirmed that this year's festival continues to honor the values ​​of flower cultivation, promoting the connection between the flower industry and tourism, cultural industries, and international integration.

"The 10th Da Lat Flower Festival continues to affirm and honor the values ​​of flowers and the flower cultivation profession; creating opportunities for the Da Lat flower industry to connect, spread, and develop alongside the tourism, cultural industry, and international integration, making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of Lam Dong province," the Deputy Prime Minister said, while also requesting Lam Dong province to focus on rationally exploiting natural resources, protecting the environment, and promoting sustainable development values ​​in the future.

The Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Tran Hong Thai, said that this year's festival inherits the spirit of the previous nine festivals, while also conveying a message about the strength and aspiration of the 47 ethnic groups in the locality. He emphasized that flowers not only bring economic value but also symbolize the resilient spirit and aspiration for contribution of the people of Lam Dong.

The opening night's art program left a strong impression with the participation of many famous artists such as Ho Ngoc Ha, Ho Quynh Huong, Van Mai Huong, Ho Trung Dung, The Wings group, Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Rapper Ram C, and international artists such as violinist JMIKO from South Korea.

The 10th Da Lat Flower Festival will take place from December 5th to December 20th, 2024, featuring numerous cultural and artistic activities, flower exhibitions, and programs honoring the flower cultivation industry.

The event promises to attract a large number of domestic and international tourists, while also affirming the brand of the Da Lat Flower Festival on the world tourism map.
