On the afternoon of November 10, a representative of Gia Dinh People's Hospital (HCMC) updated the situation of dozens of patients - in the case of suspected food poisoning after eating toad bread at 2 locations of "Miss B." shop - that the hospital received for treatment.
Accordingly, by the morning of the same day, Gia Dinh People's Hospital recorded 52 cases of suspected food poisoning (an increase of 16 cases compared to the previous report), including: 9 outpatients, 11 discharged cases and 32 cases continuing to be inpatients.

Among these, there is the case of Ms. VNH (born in 1962, residing in An Nhon ward, Ho Chi Minh City) who suffered from nausea, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea after eating toad bread on November 4, and was admitted to the hospital on the afternoon of November 5. Through blood culture, the doctor determined that the patient was positive for Salmonella bacteria.
After antibiotic treatment and fluid replacement, Ms. H's health improved well and she is expected to be discharged on November 11.
Ms. Hoa (born in 1978, residing in An Nhon ward, name changed) and her two children ate banh mi toad at "Miss B." shop on the evening of November 6, then developed symptoms of fever, chills, stomachache, diarrhea, and self-treatment was ineffective.
On the morning of November 9, she took her children to Gia Dinh People's Hospital for examination and was diagnosed with food poisoning, treated with antibiotics, and electrolyte replacement. Currently, the health of the three mother and children is stable, no more fever and diarrhea.

According to Dr. Vo Hong Minh Cong, Deputy Director of Gia Dinh People's Hospital, within 24 hours after the patient consumed food suspected of being contaminated, the hospital took samples and quickly determined the cause was Salmonella bacteria.
This is a type of bacteria that can grow in foods such as pâté, cold cuts, and pickled vegetables. If not treated promptly, the disease can lead to blood poisoning and multiple organ failure.
At Children's Hospital 2, on the morning of November 10, the unit recorded 2 children related to the above incident being hospitalized.
These are boys aged 2.5 and 7, both ate bread with sausage inside on November 5, then developed symptoms such as stomachache, vomiting, high fever... These two children were diagnosed with intestinal infection caused by bacteria, treated symptomatically and actively monitored, the cause of the disease has not been determined.
In addition to the above hospitals, many other facilities have also reported a series of cases related to the incident to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, including Military Hospital 175 , Tam Anh General Hospital, Binh Dan Hospital, My Duc Tan Binh Hospital, Becamex International Hospital, and Trung My Tay General Hospital.
Of which, Military Hospital 175 recorded the most cases, with more than 130 cases.

Currently, Salmonella bacteria has only been found in the specimen of one case (Photo: Hospital).
Speaking to Dan Tri reporter, Ms. Pham Khanh Phong Lan, Director of the Department of Food Safety of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the specialized departments of this agency are urgently coordinating with the authorities to investigate the case.
Currently, because Salmonella bacteria has only been found in one patient, it cannot be concluded that this is the agent causing mass food poisoning.
Previously, the inspection team, including the Department of Food Safety of Ho Chi Minh City in coordination with the People's Committee of Hanh Thong Ward, suddenly inspected the "Miss B" bread shop on Nguyen Thai Son Street (Hanh Thong Ward).
At the time of inspection, this facility was temporarily suspended, so the Delegation sealed the food and food ingredients for testing.
In addition to the above facility, a branch on Le Quang Dinh Street (Binh Loi Trung Ward) was also recorded to have a patient who went to the emergency room after eating bread purchased here.
