Towards the Central region

On the first day of December, from early morning on the way to Dai Ban Secondary School (Hong An Ward) was busier than usual. People, parents and students came to school carrying books, shirts, rice, instant noodles and many other essential items to send to the Central region, supporting people affected by storms and floods.

After only 5 days of launching, from November 28 to December 2, Dai Ban Secondary School received more than 80 tons of goods for the people of Central Vietnam, including 2.5 tons of rice, more than 5,500 sets of clothes, 139 boxes of instant noodles and all necessary necessities along with 84 million VND in cash. The entire amount of money as well as necessities were sent through a volunteer group to the people directly affected by the flood in Phu Hoa commune (Dak Lak province).

Everything was carefully prepared, packaged, and neatly folded, sorted, and noted by students before being delivered to the people.

Teacher Vu Thi Thu Hien, Principal of Dai Ban Secondary School, emotionally said: “In just a short time of launching the campaign to support the people of Central Vietnam, the school has received a lot of affection from both parents and students. Although the school's facilities are still lacking and the students are still in difficulty, everyone has contributed whatever they can with the desire to share the pain and loss with the people of Central Vietnam.”

As soon as receiving information about floods in the Central provinces, along with the direction of the Prime Minister and Hai Phong city, many volunteer groups in the city such as Tam Thien, White Trumpet, charity rice shop, SOS An Lao... mobilized members to join hands to support flood victims.

From Hai Phong, hundreds of tons of goods of all kinds including: water, candy, milk, fast food, clothes, blankets, rice, instant noodles... were transported to people in flooded areas.

Head of the Tam Thien volunteer group, Nguyen Thi Xuan Huong, said that as soon as they received information about the impact of floods in the Central provinces, the Tam Thien group connected with volunteer groups in Hai Phong and philanthropists to join hands to donate essential supplies and necessities to people in flooded areas.

When enough goods are collected for a truck or a flight, the group will immediately transport them to the people in the localities affected by natural disasters. Up to now, the group has transported 20 trips, each trip carries an average of 15-20 tons of goods by truck, container or 0-VND flight.

Spread strongly

On social networks, the spirit of volunteerism also spread strongly. Many youth groups organized calls for donations, shared images of the scene to mobilize the community to join hands. Students in the school collected clean clothes, books, and school supplies to send to Dak Lak.

On this occasion, many party committees and authorities joined with businesses and volunteer groups to send necessities to support people affected by floods in Dak Lak. Secretary of the Hong An Ward Party Committee Do Viet Hung said that after launching, businesses in the area, schools and volunteer groups... all focused on supporting people in Dak Lak province with large quantities of goods and cash, hoping that people in the Central region would soon overcome the consequences of natural disasters. There were businesses willing to support dozens of free truck trips to transport goods to the Central region without fear of difficulties and hardships.
