Hundreds of exam candidates from the mountainous region of Thanh Hoa province are provided with free accommodation.

From the morning of June 26th, the NT guesthouse in Zone 4, Hoi Xuan town, Quan Hoa district ( Thanh Hoa province), a mountainous area, opened its doors to welcome candidates and their families to stay free of charge during the high school graduation exam.

Because these 10 rooms are located near the exam site at Quan Hoa High School, they can accommodate about 50 people with private, clean bathrooms and full electricity and water supply, so many candidates have chosen to stay there. The candidates are all satisfied with the conditions of this free accommodation. After receiving their rooms, many candidates took the opportunity to review their knowledge in preparation for the exam.

Ha Vi, from Hien Kiet commune, Quan Hoa district, whose home is more than 40km from the exam center at Quan Hoa High School, confided: "I am a private candidate taking the exam at Quan Hoa High School to get my combined subject scores for university admission."

This afternoon, June 26th, as soon as I arrived in Hoi Xuan town, I was picked up by the owner of the NT guesthouse in Zone 4 and given free accommodation during the exam days. The guesthouse owner also introduced me to a place that provides free breakfast (sticky rice, fish noodle soup), and drinks for the candidates, so the students can rest assured."

Mr. Pham Anh Toan, Vice Chairman of the Quan Hoa District People's Committee, said that out of 388 students from the district who registered to take the high school graduation exam, 281 live more than 10km away from the exam location, along mountainous roads and across rivers and streams, so they need accommodation near the exam site.

To facilitate convenient accommodation for candidates and their families near the examination site, the District People's Committee arranged for the boarding facilities of Quan Hoa High School to provide free meals and lodging during the examination days. In addition, many households with rental properties near the examination site also offered free accommodation to candidates and their families.

According to the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training, in this year's high school graduation exam, nearly 9,000 candidates registered to take the exam at 23 testing locations across 11 mountainous and highland districts of the province. The district-level exam steering committees have prepared sufficient free accommodation for candidates and their families from remote areas to travel to the testing locations.
