Vietnamese goods currently account for over 90% of Saigon Co.op 's entire retail system.
Choose quality Vietnamese products.
Amidst the proliferation of counterfeit and imitation goods in the market, consumer confidence in domestic products is steadily increasing. No longer choosing products based on habit or low price, buyers are increasingly prioritizing quality, clear origin, and consumer safety.
Co.opmart Dak Nong is one of the units actively responding to the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign. Every morning, fresh food items such as vegetables, meat, fish, eggs, and many other high-quality domestic products are busily placed on the shelves. All meet strict regulations regarding origin and have clear QR codes.
Mr. Tran Giang Nhat Thao, Director of Co.opmart Dak Nong, shared: “The campaign to encourage ‘Vietnamese people to prioritize using Vietnamese goods’ has been implemented by the Saigon Co.op retail chain for many years. Vietnamese goods currently account for over 90% of the entire unit. Along with attractive promotional policies, we also prioritize displaying Vietnamese branded products in prominent, easily accessible locations to stimulate shopping.”
Similarly, at production facilities for OCOP products, typical rural industries of Lam Dong province , many items are gaining the trust and preference of a large number of consumers. Mr. Tran Van Hoi, owner of Tran Van Hoi business in Thuan Hanh commune, shared: “Our facility currently produces fresh mushrooms, freeze-dried mushrooms, cordyceps and aloe vera drinks, and cordyceps wine, tea, and honey. These products are currently very popular with consumers. Recently, our facility has recorded a 2-3 fold increase in sales.”
Besides grasping consumer trends, many Vietnamese brands are also focusing on improving product quality, diversifying features, and enhancing the shopping experience. As a result, they have gradually gained consumer trust and increased sales.
Intensive trade promotion
Statistics from the Lam Dong Department of Industry and Trade show that Vietnamese goods currently account for 80-90% of products in modern distribution channels and over 60% in traditional retail systems. Recently, the Department of Industry and Trade has coordinated and promoted the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods." Notable activities include: implementing programs to bring Vietnamese goods to rural areas; organizing trade fairs to promote and market Vietnamese products; and supporting businesses investing in the distribution of Vietnamese goods.
Lam Dong province is currently implementing the construction of model Vietnamese product sales points under the names "The Quintessence of Vietnamese Goods" and "Proud of Vietnamese Goods" by 2025; at the same time, it is participating in safe agricultural product introduction points in provinces and cities nationwide.
The industry regularly directs market management forces to inspect and prevent the trading of counterfeit, fake, and substandard goods. This contributes to protecting the rights of consumers as well as reputable domestic manufacturers. From now until the end of the year, the industry and trade sector is actively organizing specialized and in-depth trade promotion activities for each product group through various initiatives.
These include programs such as: bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas; activities in response to the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign; distributing Vietnamese goods in mountainous, remote, and disadvantaged areas; and activities to promote the consumption of products from ethnic minority communities...
The industry also actively participates in programs connecting supply and demand for goods, facilitating trade, and exhibiting products from Da Lat - Lam Dong; as well as promotional programs to stimulate consumer demand… Along with improving quality, to build strong consumer trust, businesses and production facilities in Lam Dong are also developing long-term strategies and focusing on brand protection.
