By 11:30 PM on March 17th, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (PC07) of the Ho Chi Minh City Police continued to coordinate with relevant units to investigate the cause of the Thanh Da market fire.
The fire destroyed approximately 7 kiosks.
According to initial information, at over 10 PM on the same day, a fire suddenly broke out in several stalls selling plastic goods, food, household items, books, newspapers, etc., in Thanh Da Market, Ward 27, Binh Thanh District. At that time, the stalls had already closed.
PC07 quickly dispatched forces to the scene.
The market is located in the middle of Thanh Da residential area, opposite the police station and the People's Committee of Ward 27, so the authorities were able to quickly reach the scene, but the fire spread too rapidly.
PC07 then dispatched several fire trucks along with dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene to carry out firefighting operations.
Police arrived at the scene.
After an hour, the fire was basically brought under control. Initial assessments indicate that the fire destroyed approximately 7 kiosks, with no casualties.
Police extinguished the fire in about an hour.
Many people gathered to watch the event unfold.
Police sprayed water to cool the area and prevent the fire from spreading.
The area that caught fire consisted of kiosks located next to Thanh Da market, which normally sold decorative items, books and newspapers, and served as a food stall.
Electricity workers were also present.
