Kindergarten principal investigated for embezzlement and misuse of funding

On October 14th, according to a source from Dan Tri newspaper, the Criminal Investigation Department of Dong Hai District Police ( Bac Lieu province) issued a decision to prosecute Ms. Le Kim Hue (53 years old), Principal of Sao Bien Kindergarten, for the crime of embezzlement.

Initially, Ms. Hue was found to have misappropriated and used for personal purposes the school's sponsorship money from a company in Binh Duong, which was transferred to the principal's personal account.

Previously, the Dong Hai District Police announced that they had received a request for prosecution alleging that several units and individuals who had contracts or agreements to supply goods, services, or construct buildings with Sao Bien Kindergarten had transferred over 300 million VND into Ms. Hue's personal account.

Ms. Hue did not report this amount to the collective and did not disclose it transparently.

Of that amount, one company in Binh Duong transferred over 226 million VND and other individuals transferred nearly 78 million VND.

"Authorities are awaiting damage assessment before proceeding with further action according to regulations," a source told the reporter.
