Following their 3-1 victory over the Philippines yesterday (August 9th) in the second leg of the SEA V.League 2025 volleyball tournament, head coach Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai (Thailand) said he is ready to give his all in the "final" match against Vietnam.

The Thai women's team had a tougher-than-expected match against the Philippines, winning 3-1 (25-14, 25-17, 19-25, 25-19). Notably, this was the second consecutive time Thailand lost a set to the Philippines, something that hadn't happened in the past six years up until this tournament.

Speaking after the match, coach Kiattipong praised his opponents: "Congratulations to the Philippines, they played very well. I didn't expect them to improve so quickly, especially when using reserve players, which made us expend an extra set."

He also shared an update on his team's situation: "We wanted to finish the match in three sets but were unsuccessful. My players were exhausted after a strenuous morning training session in preparation for the match against Vietnam."

Regarding the return of outside hitter Chatchu-on "Bumbim" Moksri after a long period of injury recovery, coach Kiattipong said: "She played well despite not having competed for a long time, but there were still signs of fatigue."

Despite admitting that the players were somewhat fatigued, the head coach of the Thai national team remained very confident in an interview with Thairath ahead of the decisive match against Vietnam.

He emphasized: “The good news is that no one on the team is injured. We will recover our fitness to the best of our ability and give it our all to win against Vietnam. They will probably also field their strongest lineup. I think this will be an exciting match.”

In the first leg of the SEA V.League, held in Thailand a week ago, the Thai women's team secured a thrilling 3-2 victory against Vietnam to claim the championship title.

Therefore, in this rematch at home, Thanh Thúy and her teammates are determined to settle the score with Thailand.
