The Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) has confirmed that Tetsuro Uki has officially submitted his resignation as head coach of the women's national team.
This decision was made shortly after the Myanmar team suffered a 0-2 defeat against the Vietnamese women's team in the final group stage match of the 2025 SEA Games, resulting in their early exit from the tournament.
Before their final group stage match against Vietnam, Myanmar were leading the group and only needed a draw against Mai Duc Chung's team to secure their progression. However, they lost and were eliminated from the tournament.
Tetsuro Uki began coaching the Myanmar women's national team in 2023. Under his leadership, Myanmar women's football has achieved successes such as winning the silver medal at the 32nd SEA Games (2023), winning the Nepal Four Nations Cup in 2025, and finishing as runner-up in the ASEAN Cup in 2025.

However, failing to qualify for the Olympic Games, the Asian Cup, and being eliminated in the group stage of the SEA Games has put coach Tetsuro Uki in a desperate situation. Myanmar women's football has always been a force in the region, with 4 silver medals and 7 bronze medals at the SEA Games.
The semi-finals of the women's football tournament at the 33rd SEA Games will see Vietnam face Indonesia, while Thailand will clash with the Philippines.
