(Dan Tri Newspaper) - On the afternoon of September 20th, the special aircraft carrying Japanese Crown Prince Akishino and his wife landed at Noi Bai Airport ( Hanoi ), beginning their official visit to Vietnam.
At the invitation of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Crown Prince Akishino and Princess Kiko of Japan will pay an official visit to Vietnam from September 20-25. The visit coincides with the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan relations (September 21, 1973 - September 21, 2023).
According to the planned schedule, the Crown Prince and his wife will attend the official welcoming ceremony at the Presidential Palace on the morning of September 21st, followed by talks with the Vice President , and both sides will attend the ceremony commemorating the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan relations at the International Convention Center.
On September 22nd, the Japanese Crown Prince will meet with President Vo Van Thuong and attend a reception; he will then attend the premiere of the opera Princess Anio that evening.
During their five-day visit to Vietnam, Crown Prince Akishino and his wife will participate in activities in Da Nang and Quang Nam .
The Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has developed strongly and comprehensively in recent years, with a high level of political trust. High-level exchanges and contacts at all levels and through various channels have been vibrant. Senior leaders of both countries maintain regular visits and contacts at international and regional forums.
Currently, Japan is the largest provider of official development assistance (ODA), ranks second in labor cooperation, third in investment and tourism, and fourth in trade.
Cooperation in other areas such as defense, security, health, agriculture, science and technology, digital transformation, education and training, and climate change response is being actively implemented. The two sides are coordinating closely and effectively, supporting each other in multilateral forums and on international and regional issues of common concern.
This is Crown Prince Akishino and Princess Akishino's first official overseas visit after the Covid-19 pandemic, and also the first visit to Vietnam by the Japanese Imperial Family in six years since the visit of the Emperor and Empress of Japan in 2017.
