Hiep Thanh Commune Women's Union celebrates the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union

On October 20, the Women's Union of Hiep Thanh commune solemnly held the ceremony to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2025).

Attending the program were comrade Hoang Anh Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Hiep Thanh commune, together with comrades who were former leaders of the Women's Union of Hiep Thanh - Hiep An and Lien Hiep (old) communes through the periods, along with more than 200 exemplary members, representing 4,395 women in the whole commune.

In recent years, the Women's Union of Hiep Thanh commune has achieved many outstanding achievements. The work of reorganizing the apparatus according to the 2-level local government model has been implemented urgently and seriously.

Currently, the Association has 4,395 members operating in 19 branches and 143 groups. 100% of the branches regularly maintain health training, culture and sports models.

Social security programs and emulation movements have been effectively implemented. The Association has supported 15 women's households to escape poverty according to multidimensional poverty criteria; carried out 36 projects/tasks contributing to the construction of new rural areas and civilized urban areas.

Meaningful programs such as "Godmother", "Accompanying women in the border areas", "Millions of gifts to share love" have presented 6,732 gifts, with a total value of 570 million VND in the 2020 - 2025 term.

Notably, the position of women in Hiep Thanh commune in the political system is increasingly affirmed. The rate of women participating in the Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term reached 31.6%, the rate of women participating in the People's Council of the commune reached 31.75%.

Many women hold leadership positions in Party committees, governments, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations, as well as playing key roles in businesses, agencies and units. This is a clear demonstration of the capacity and contributions of Hiep Thanh women.

The outstanding achievements of the women's movement and the Women's Union of Hiep Thanh commune in recent times have actively contributed to the general development, building Hiep Thanh homeland to become increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized.
